I would expect it in the NLL in the sea, rather than on land at the DMZ by ground forces. I think you are right. The AEGIS launching today in the South must have also pissed them off somewhat.

Yeah, difficult to explain the the feeling to Americans back home. Maybe they understand and maybe they don't.

In some respects it is a feeling of profound malaise combined with the feeling that something is dangerously simmering behind the scenes. Im sure that some career FSO's might understand but other than that the State Dep and the rest of the USA are completely in the dark on this one. Knowing that you sense it as well makes me feel that Im not alone on it - something is going to happen FRiend and the day is getting closer - much closer.

What I find even more disturbing is that many Americans back home seem to think that the world hates the USA because of GW Bush, that ain't the case.

This might clarify what I was saying for other readers.

I’ve learned that when presenting new information to other people, that we must stop thinking about ourself. We must concentrate on the information being delivered and watch for the levels of attention, understanding and intentions of the audience receiving the information. In order to use these methods, we must be capable of a sort of attitude of non-existence—that is, an assumption that only the information and the other peoples’ reactions and desire to receive and agree with the information.

It works the same the other way around—when we are receiving information from the other person. Of course, it is more difficult to receive and understand new information than to deliver it.

And most importantly, the receiver of information must be motivated to receive it.

...not a way that many Baby Boomers (including myself) are very accomplished in.

I think you and I know what it is... more talk and then nothing changes - the US response to bellicosity and brinkmanship has become too predictable - further emboldening our adversaries.

...fascinating observation on your part. Actually, I've seen a kind of uneasiness in common people around us here (in a relatively conservative and lower middle class part of the Rockies). Possibilities of great changes frighten them, IMO. Their minds run away from such possibilities and can become angry in efforts to do so.

Quite a few western Europeans were telling us that the "world" hated us, and so were many of our own radical "progressives" and the like.
