Excuse me, but your conception needs revamping. You can pick on small items, however you cannot explain the aroused German nation over the lies and deception perpetrate upon them by the “Allies”. This is what brought National Socialism to Germany. If the concept of an “Armistice” had been followed there would never have been WWII (IMHO).

Here's what the Allies thought, which was reflected in their treatment of postwar Germany.  The collapse of Germany's economy and the inevitable rise of a savior in the form of Hitler can be laid primarily at the feet of France.

• David Lloyd George believed Germany had to be punished but not to the extent that it left her destitute.
• Woodrow Wilson believed that Germany should be punished but in a way that would lead to European reconciliation as opposed to revenge.
• Georges Clemenceau of France had one very simple belief - Germany should be brought to its knees so that she could never start a war again.
