I'd like to see this country collectively agree that all crime is hate crime, and just leave it at that. Why anyone hates isn't important, especially when it comes to punishment.

Yet some arrogantly believe that if they understand the "why", they will be able to prevent evildoers from perpetrating their acts of violence. I'm mostly content to understand that free will, since Eve handed Adam the apple, is enough to enable violence, and leave it at that. Some might consider this outlook too simplistic.

So would I but as long as we have the sharptons and jackson creating wedges and divides, I don't see that happening none too soon.

It's free will. We decide what we will and won't do and accept the consequences of our acts.
