Chicano Studies, Women’s Studies, African-American Studies... These majors simply prepare new academics who can perpetuate and further the victimhood of their particular sect and continue to demonize whites and Western civilization, all while insulated in the ivory tower. Totally bogus fields of study which will go by the wayside in fifty years, if our civilization endures.

You could work for La Raza to oversee the return to Mexico of all the land taken in the Mexican War of 1847. If you speak Spanish, you could help with the repatriation of all those displaced Mexicans and the restoration of their land titles.

The insurance agency I work with insures a non-profit Mexican culture group. They do field trips, cultural shows, social gatherings for their culture (much like the French people my wife associates with at the Alliance France here in San Francisco). My guess the people running that organization are some that could use the study of their culture to work with those that have grown up in the US and have not been associated with their previous culture for generations. This is a serious reply, I am not sure that is what you are looking for from the other replies. Sorry if this is not flippant enough.

“Ask the Mexican” is a column in the local ‘independent’ newspaper Dallas Observer here (which I believe is connected to the Dallas Morning News somehow, so not so independent)—it’s got a stereotypical logo of a Mexican complete with sombrero, etc. It sounds like this is the same column author—think ‘satire’ or ‘parody’...unless it is REALLY a Mexican trying to foment “Aztlan 4EVER!” kind of reactions. Who knows nowadays?

“...it remains a word with strong political associations. Since these politics are not necessarily espoused by all Mexican Americans...”
It means those who are “down with the struggle”.
That is worthless to cultural heritage groups. It demands you subscribe to the right (liberal) politics.
