To: Alberta's Child

There is always going to be parts of the economy that benefit from anything illegal i.e. if we solved the illegal drug trade tomorrow the drug therapy business would be devastated.There’s a reason employers want cheap labor but at what price. They get cheap labor and we get to pay for medical benefits and a host of other welfare services. The same argument can be made for real estate.

Right. But the difference with real estate is that in a country like ours where a high percentage of the population owns their homes, the “real estate” benefit affects a lot more people than the “employer” benefit does.
