This is the kind of weather that brings snakes into unusual areas. Be careful when you go into quiet areas of your property. Don’t be surprised to find them in your garage or animal shelters.

If I find a snake in my garage, my screams will be heard on the other side of the world. And then I will probably destroy our car running it into walls in an attempt to run over the intruder. I’d better let the hubby go out first for a few days. :P

I guess I should have thought of that myself, since I have already noticed that our front porch has become a rollypolly emergency shelter. You can’t walk to the front door without stepping on them!

Thanks for the note of caution though!

Yes, the snakes are out. I saw one in the river this morning headed staight for our property, yikes!

After I beat the last live snake to death in the middle of the living room floor with a cast iron skillet, the cat is now an indoor pet. Oh yeah, the neighbors said they heard my screams and thought about calling the cops... well, thanks but no thanks, next time I’m in serious need of help I’ll make sure not to rely on them. Ok maybe it wasn’t exactly screams of terror but very loud cursing of the snake and the cat, lol.

And scorpions. (Yesterday I got my first-ever sting.)
