Glen had been bashing Dobson for several days with untruths.
Beck seemed actually enthused that Dobson encouraged him to call his organization and check out stories.
IMHO, Dobson was not necessarily “misqoted” in the article, but his words were taken out of context. However, if Dobson speaks on on candidates, he’s got to know this sort of thing is going to happen.
And, the interesting thing is that Dobson had done the same thing he accused Beck of doing, by taking someone else’s word for something and saying that Beck had compared him to the Taleban (which, in context, he hadn’t.)
I thought the following discussion (after the furor and apologies were exchanged) was interesting. About voting for candidates, no matter what their “religious” believe, but rather for what their core moral values were, i.e. pro-life, pro-family.
Dobson didn’t ream Beck because Beck didn’t fall for Dobson’s stunt. Beck was very kind and apologetic for anything that offended Dobson.
Dobson could have refuted the story days before when it was first reported but he chose not to do so until he got some air time on Beck’s show.
The good brother Dobson has been slipping since he suffered a mild stoke.
