No doubt. It is a pity the Soviet era even occurred. Russian is a shadow of what it could’ve been had it progressed naturally from monarchy to a free democracy.

“from monarchy to a free democracy.”

With whole respect to Russians, I just can’t imagine a free democracy in Russia, they couldn’t freely purchase a land until 1993 (I don’t know who could afford to buy it after), that’s like they are 200 years after the rest of the Europe. This has got it’s good sides and bad sides, but lack of free market, unemployment rate (real unemployment, in many places they are still using “full employment” policy, that’s so soviet-like,) infant death rate, life lenght expectancy, alcoholism and number of smokers (biggest in the world, largest number of juvenile smokers and alco addicts), AIDS, HDI are bad sides.

anyway... few days ago RusIvan was laughing at Poles and gay -shame pride in Warsaw, saying that it’s impossible to demonstrate perversity in Russia... well

Times are a-changing...
