The Lebanese Army: What are they waiting for? (Vanity)

Posted on 05/27/2007 1:58:09 PM PDT by wingsof liberty

First let me give credit to the Lebanese army for going after the terrorists holed up in the refugee camp outside of Tripoli. The problem is their troops are not being allowed to move in and finish the job. Ultimatums of surrender have been consistently rejected, and its clear the only way the Lebanese will be rid of these guys is extermination. The policy of not entering refugee camps should not apply here, given the sevarity of the situation. I understand there are still civilians in the camp, but its clear the terrorists will continue to use them as sheilds and there will be casualties no matter what. In addition, the longer the Lebanese wait, the more dug in the terrorists become and when the army finally does go in, they will have to level the camp to get them out. The time for talk is over - the time for action is now!!

Why don’t we just drop a few daisy cutters on the camp? The Islamicists say that it’s us they want to fight anyway.

There are at least 10,000 people who call that slum home...so your solution would be to go in guns ablazing killing countless thousands...to drive out maybe a couple of hundred jihadists.

Waiting them out maybe the only way to go...

And how many thousands of those Pali 'refugees' embraced the jihadists when they came in?

I’ve observed that there are a lot of “kill em all and let God sort em out” types that post here. I’d like to give them a gun and walk them into a pre-school full of Muslim kids, make them look the first little girl in the eye and see if they will pull the trigger. Even the Nazis had to dope up their executioners for the kind of crap these people are calling for. Bluster is all it is.

IIRC, this whole deal started as a pursuit of some bank robbers and escalated from there. I highly doubt the Lebanese Army’s intention is to eliminate AQ/Hamas from within its borders. I think the politicians now are in control and are looking for a way out. I pray I am wrong.

The latest breaking news from Lebanon is that the Lebanese government gave the terrorist group Fath Al Islam till Wednesday May 30 to totally surrender or they are going inside the Palestinian terrorist camp of Nahr Al Bared.

Bluster?
Not always.......

The two world wars in which we were on the winning side — killed a hell of a lot more civilians than enemy warriors, including cute little children...
Most of the civilians were killed by bombing runs or artillery raining down on towns and cities.....

To win the current war against the militant and murderous Islamists will require the SAME level of destruction and death....

Why in hell we’re more concerned about the Muslims than we were the German Christian “innocent civilians” or Japanese “innocent civilians” is beyond justification.

Frankly - I find this undo concern as irrational....
I can assure you — this enemy intentionally strives to terrorize and kill innocent civilians - because they can not defeat our military in a nose to nose knife fight in a phone booth.....

Have you forgotten the Islamist’s murderous raid on a school full of “innocent children” in Russia? THAT is the enemy we’re dealing with —— they don’t give a shit about your child or mine. If a child must die — and they will — my vote is that it’s THEIR’S not mine..

The Jihadists are forcing us to fight THEIR war -— not ours.
If we continue to play by their rules — and spare them the devastating destruction and bloodshed a REAL war entails — they will win...

These bastards — under cover and authorization of their “holy book”, their “holy leaders” and the vast majority of their Muslim co religionists — have declared “Holy
War” against us..
We should demonstrate exactly what that entails.....
Even if it leads to a mushroom cloud over their Turd World — for that is surely what they intend for us....
They have been quite clear in their pronouncement - if the dumb asses in the West would only listen...

Put me squarely in the camp of being in favor of fighting this war like WWII......
With MASSIVE death and destruction dealt to THEM, before we are on the receiving end..

You hit the nail on the head. If the tables were turned, there would be no hesitation to kill all of us, innocent children included, heck, they do that all the time.

I have NEVER been more concerned about the security or future of our Republic....

The 60’s mush heads have hijacked Public Education and accomplished what no external enemy could....

They have reduced the bulk of several generations to weak minded, weak willed effeminate pansies — who have no concept of the price paid for their freedom to be such worthless dumb asses...

In the event we lose this war against the Islamists — more than half of Americans will have EARNED and DESERVE their fate.....

No one will ever think of this as “The Greatest Generation”.....more like the WORST...with notable exceptions....

PS: I sure miss the taste of Gulf Red Snapper..
Here in Kalifornicate - the “Red Snapper” tastes like some other species of fish.... NOT THE SAME, and should not be called Red Snapper.

“I have never been more concerned about the security or future...” You and me both!! Scary times we are living in, to be sure. Let me tell you, sending one’s only child into war sure does change one’s perspective on life. His is changed forever and he has no patience for wimps or twits, among other things. Tomorrow I plan to visit the grave of a good friend of his who died in Iraq. (My son is curently at sgt. school for two weeks. He usually visits periodically and always on Memorial Day.)
About the red snapper, I’m afraid that soon I’ll be missing the taste of them, too. As recreational fisher people, we are now cut down to two snapper per person on the boat, size limit 16 inches, I think, used to be four. However, you can follow commercial boats in by the trail of dead undersized red snapper caught in their nets, which they cull before wildlife and fisheries or Coast Guard can catch them. Sickening!

Yes, there are some aggressive types on FR. Two things to consider: 1) The individuals we are talking about are fanatics. They would do anything for a chance to kill you, your family, and as many more Americans as possible before they themselves were killed; and 2) Try putting the shoe on the other foot with your statement “I’d like to give them a gun and walk them into a pre-school full of Muslim kids, make them look the first little girl in the eye and see if they will pull the trigger.” Terrorists are now raising children almost from the point of birth to die in the name of Allah, taking as many “crusaders” (that would be us) with them as possible - I offer the Palestinians as proof. These are new realities we didnt have to contend with at the time of the Nazi executioners you mentioned. Dont get me wrong - I am not saying kill all terrorists no matter what the cost in civilian lives. But the longer this Tripoli thing drags on, the more credibility will be given to these lunatics.

Well said, Brother! As long as we have to play by bullsh*t rules and the terrorists dont were going to lose. It may not be pretty, but it is reality. Its a shame Harry Reid, Pelosi and the rest of the RATS dont recognize this. If a dim comes to power in 08, God help us all.

I can never justify an attitude like that. I’m all for fighting but I will not endanger my soul by copying the murderers that I oppose. Total war aside. What people around here are talking about is not war, it’s intentional, willful, genocide. Collateral damage is one thing, even Sherman knew better than to indiscriminately massacre unarmed people just because they were in a house near where something bad happened. There is a line there and it has moved too far in the PC direction but what I am talking about is not going too far in the other direction. There are people here that would advocate killing all Muslims because they might become terrorists. Most of them, I’d wager, have not looked into the eyes of another human being as the life left them. It changes you, some become monsters but some realize the weight of what they have just seen and lose the p*ssing contest mentality that leads to ridiculous statements advocating atrocities. Can you see the distinction I’m drawing?
