I had to laugh when I just saw Jeff Gordon’s racing suit with the word “Nomex”. For just a moment, I thought he was making a statement about illegal immigration. Turns out that is just the maker of the flame retardent suit.

I had to laugh when I just saw Jeff Gordon’s racing suit with the word “Nomex”. For just a moment, I thought he was making a statement about illegal immigration. Turns out that is just the maker of the flame retardent suit. Nomex is a type of flame resistant nylon material invented by Dupont. In addition to racers, you can find people wearing Nomex coveralls at refineries and other hazardous facilities around the country.
