RX For Breakdown-How Immigration Bill Overloads Bureaucracy & Endangers Security
The New York Post ^ | Kris W Kobach

Posted on 05/28/2007 1:17:17 PM PDT by SE Mom

-- ONE of the biggest - and least discussed - problems with the immigration bill now before the Senate is the sheer impossibility of implementing it.

The measure would triple the workload at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services - an agency that the Government Accountability Office says is already at the breaking point. It's an invitation not only to fraud, but to any terrorist group or criminal gang that's looking to insert minions into America.

AT the center of the bill is the massive "Z visa" amnesty - whereby virtually all of the 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens in the country could become lawfully present, able to renew the visa indefinitely until they die.

To qualify, an alien must have entered before Jan. 1, and have remained in the United States ever since. Each applicant must also have a job or be the parent, child or spouse of someone who does.

Many of the bill's advocates claim the amnesty doesn't take effect until some future date - after the measure's border-security goals are met. Not true - at least, not in effect. The amnesty starts immediately - with the issuance of probationary Z visas.

And that qualifier means little: The probationary visa is nearly as good as the non-probationary one, giving the alien immediate lawful status, protection from deportation and work authorization the alien to work. He or she can exit and re-enter the country (with advance permission).

Well just how would the federal government prove that someone entered by any particular date if that person entered illegally? Also how could you possibly determine that someone has remained in the US ever since any particular date?

It is 3.45 pm in Mexico, the Earth just shook, there, we scooped the main news media on Free Republic. I really wish SOMEONE was listening. I called the U.S. Embassy today, 3 times. We paid $1.25 per minute, using a 1 900 phone, it took about 24 minutes to get a slot, and today they told us the earliest we could get an interview was Aug. 17th. Meanwhile we pay the $100 for an interview, with no guarantee that we’ll even get a visitors visa. I would gestimate that there are about 70% of the workers at the U.S. Embassy who speak poor English, and are born in Mexico City. To us, here in Mexico, the people who answer the phone COULD NOT work for Avis, Hilton Hotels, as there is nothing absolutely in the tone of their voice that is cordial, kind, pleasant or a tint sign of a desire to serve. No one cares how long you wait on hold, as you pay $1.25 and that goes to their wages. They are PREPOTENTE, they think that they are some form of deity from a Kingdom represent from the Noth that at heart is hostile, fierce and mean. I think they eat nails for breakfast. If you are gay, transexual, or on drugs, you’d probably stand a good chance to get hired to interview. The interviews for visas customarily last about 37 seconds. In that time frame, they make a call from their gut, and either they like you or don’t like you. People who have done all of their paper work walk with NO ViSA, and silly little girls that flirt and show their navel get the VISA. Some system. They ought to send them to work as greeters at WalMart. They need to hire extras, maybe some of the Karina crowd, to at least just chat with the folks, offer them a cup of coffee, and be nice. TRY sometime in the USA calling YOUR nearest INS, for those in Santa Monica, that is Immigration Naturalization Service, and see if you can talk to a person. It’s all menu prompt, press a button, and HOLD. I got my 1 month extension I applied for, it came to me in Mexico, 2 years after I had gotten back in Mexico. So, there definitely needs to be FIX of the program, and they might check to see if the U.S. Embassy has been Mexicanized, and it’s the ole buddy system operating right here under our noses.

“He or she can exit and re-enter the country (with advance permission)”

This doesnt mean anything...The illegal aliens never asked to come here to start with..they’ll just come and go when they want to..

“because adjudicators must go through so many applications for benefits (for green cards, asylum and much more) every day, they spend too little time scrutinizing them. As a result, the GAO concluded, failure to detect fraud is already “an ongoing and serious problem.”

Bet it is...

“It is widely known that an unofficial “six-minute rule” applies - spend no more than six minutes looking at any single application. ....the six-minute rule would have to become a three-minute rule, or possibly a two-minute rule. Fraudulent applications would sail through by the millions”....

I’m a nice church lady from a nice western democracy and my application took months....and that short time was only because of the small number that were immigrating to the US from there..

“If they won’t call an American DMV, how can we expect the agency to contact local officials in Colombia to check for a criminal record?”

There are nice people with good educations etc in line who have waited for years to come here, including the wives of US servicemen...

“the pressure of the one-day time limit for background checks would force all amnesty applicants to the top of the pile. So much for the promise from the bill’s authors that “illegal aliens will go to the back of the line.”

Yeah, what about that?

“the 12 million amnesty recipients would have to come back every four years to renew their Z-visas, too”

Hmmmmmmmmmm Until I became a naturalized American citizen, I had to file every January, every year at the nearest Post Office or Immigration Office, and show my Alien Registration Card (Even when I was in the us MILITARY)...the illegal aliens only have to come out of their holes once every FOUR years?...

Its impossible to process that many applications. Automatic amnesty would be the default rule.

Patriots never get HOSED by Republicans again...

Conservative Third Party?

By Basil Harrington

“The GOP is on a downward course to becoming the party of corporate globalism, not conservatism,” said one analyst recently. “Unless Tom Tancredo, Ron Paul or Duncan Hunter receives the 2008 nomination, conservatives will have no choice but to vote third party,” said another.

Conservatives all around the country are talking about the prospect of flocking to a conservative third party*, which more than likely would be the Constitution Party or the America First Party. If they were smart, they would look at the British National Party, Front National, and Vlaams Belang in Europe as models, all of which have made great strides. And unlike the phony neocon GOP in the U.S., these parties are conservative in the true sense: they want to conserve Western man and his ancestral traditions.

How has the GOP gone wrong?

First, there is no greater betrayal than over immigration. So tied to providing cheap labor for big business, all but two Republican Senators recently voted against Senator Dorgan’s amendment to scrap a guest-worker program that will overwhelmingly drive down American wages. They have sided with the corporate globalists against hard-working Americans.

There is a third-world invasion of the U.S. taking place, and many in the GOP (e.g. Bush, McCain, Giuliani, Brownback, Huckabee, Rice, et al.) have actually sided with the invaders against their fellow Americans. As Jean Raspail said in Camp of the Saints, the “best conservative book ever written,” we can make a stand now against the invaders, or we can watch the West crumble and become a third-world wasteland.

Second, the neocon war in Iraq must come to an end. The transformation of the Middle East to liberal democracy is Jacobin, not conservative. It’s a product of Wilsonian utopianism, not conservatism. If we really want to end terrorism in the West, we need to (1) completely withdraw from the Middle East, (2) end foreign aid to all Middle Eastern countries, (3) deport all Muslims from the West, and (4) end all immigration from the third world.

Many do not realize it, but terrorism is primarily an immigration issue, as they are beginning to discover in the U.K. Three of the terrorists recently nabbed in New Jersey (plotting to attack Ft. Dix) were illegal immigrants who entered the U.S . from Mexico and were aided by Mexicans. Over 200,000 Hispanics in the U.S. have recently converted to Islam. And almost all previous terrorists, including those on Sept. 11, were either legal or illegal third-world immigrants. If Seung-Hui Cho had not been allowed to immigrate to the U.S., the Virginia Tech massacre would not have happened.

Third, free trade is destroying our economy and eroding away our sovereignty, and it must end. Historically, conservatives have opposed free trade, and they should, but many in the GOP have been “neoconned” on this issue and now support it in some perverse suicide pact.

The Democratic Party, which during the 19th century was the conservative party while the GOP was the radical left-wing party, is already lost to the globalists. And now it seems that the Republican Party is going the same route. Unless radical change is brought about in the GOP, conservatives will have no choice but foster third-party change.

The stakes are right. The U.S. is on its way to becoming a third-world wasteland. We must act now!

This one day time limit is extremely bizarre. Obviously unworkable, and the senators who put it in the bill know damn well it is unworkable. They know as well as we do that the bureaucracy is barely functioning as it is. The only plausible explanation is that the senators, including Kyl who apparently passed on it, intend to sabotage the entire INS bureaucracy and defeat the ostensible purpose of the bill.

The same brain-dead bureauacracy that mailed automatic visa extensions to the 9-11 hijackers, six months after 9-11, is now going to process 12 to 20 million Z-visas, and screen out the criminals, terrorists etc???

Are the Senators who wrote this amnesty bill really that stupid, or do they just think we are that stupid?

Once Upon A Time there was a Senator named Jon Kyl....

I read an article today link posted above, that speculated that Kyl, heretofore a well-thought of conservative, has made a deal with Bush and Kennedy over this bill. According to the article, he has stated his desire to become a federal judge. Bush nominates, Kennedy smooths his confirmation...voila! We get the shaft.
