Hillary Supporter Rips Romney's Mormon Faith

Hillary Supporter Rips Romney's Mormon Faith

Mitt Romney's visit to New Hampshire started on a sour note Tuesday when a restaurant patron declared he would not vote for the Republican presidential contender because of his faith.

"I'm one person who will not vote for a Mormon," Al Michaud of Dover shouted at Romney when the former Massachusetts governor approached him inside Harvey's Bakery. Romney was kicking off the second of two day's worth of campaign visits in the lead primary state.

Romney kept smiling as he asked, "Can I shake your hand anyway?"

Michaud replied, "No."

Michaud later told reporters he was not "a right-winger," alluding to some evangelical Christians who have compared Romney's faith to a cult. Instead, Michaud stated he was "a liberal."

He said he planned to vote for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., should she win the Democratic presidential nomination.

If elected, Romney would be the first Mormon to serve in the White House.

Imagine if someone stood up and refused to shake Obama’s hand while saying, “I’m one person who will not vote for a [black].” Or to Clinton, “I’m one person who will not vote for a [woman].” Or to McCain, “I’m one person who will not vote for a [senior citizen].” Or to Rudy, “I’m one person who will not vote for a [catholic].”

The real question is will Senator condemn her supporters actions!

Romney will not be elected in 2008 because he is Mormon. This country is not ready for a Mormon president. Especially the left and center left.

Or a Catholic one. They answer to the Pope. We will never have a Catholic president.

I’ll be voting for Nixon

Do you think the media would tolerate republicans telling Obama they won’t vote for a black? Do you think republicans would be forced to disavow such sentiments? Hilary is using this raw bigotry. She should denounce it and I predict she won’t. If Romney gets the nomination she will rely on it.

I think this story is an anti-Hillary hit piece, and isn’t really news. (No, I am NOT for Hillary.) But if you go around the country, you can find a supporter of ANY candidate who will utter some bigoted or stupid remark about somebody or something. This is what the MSM typically does to conservatives, and I don’t think it’s something we should condone.

A brief but pointed exercise in reason. Nicely done.

Of course not.

Edwards refused to condemn his supporters when they tore a little girls sign down during a campaign stop, and then went as far as implying riots might happen if he loses.

This is where I think the french socialist got the idea of making that threat.

Kerry refused to condemn any of the actions of his supporters when they used violence in the days running up to election day, justifying them as being emotional and blaming Bush.

That said, the guy is entitled to vote for whomever he wants for whatever reason he wants. I had a neighbor who votes against all incumbents.

About 27% of the population votes habitually against retention of any judge.

The line of reasoning is that it's so difficult to get rid of even a bad one that you vote against all of them just to make sure that you can get rid of one if you need to. I voted this way for years and found out one day that my dad has done it for the last fifty years. Like father, like son. At least on voting against judges.

From what I see from you two,( two no more, I see) and considering you both signed up the same day, I suspect that you are a married couple who enjoy arguing politics so much that you want to share it with us.

Lucky us. ;-(

” The real question is was the guy a Mormon plant.”

Hardly. Plants and vegetation of every sort, especially weeds, fruits, nuts and toxic vegetables are native to the sewage rich soil on the democrat’s plantation.
