i tuned out early in the article when the guy claimed that bin laden cleverly foresaw and planned being driven out of afghanistan. thats bs. bin laden thought he was invulnerable in afghanistan bacause he had beaten the soviets who were right next door.

the idea that a couple hundred us special forces guys would collapse the taliban was unthinkable.

bin laden sufferedd “unintended consequences” big time with 9/11 and to think otherwise is foolish. we are winning against al qaeda.

I’m with you beebuster. There is no way that bin Laden anticipated being routed along with the Taliban in such summary fashion. He did not think the “paper tiger” would respond so vigorously. Further, while one may bash the president on many fronts, he was the right man at the right time come September 11.
