Bush in 2000 on Illegal Immigration (Note the last two sentences)
The Boston Globe ^ | January 2000

Posted on 05/30/2007 8:53:52 AM PDT by KingSnorky

"America is a nation of immigrants; legal immigration is good for America and for those who come here seeking freedom and opportunity. As Governor of a border state, I know firsthand the great richness and benefits that legal immigrants with different cultures, history and traditions bring to America. I support increasing the number of H-1B visas to help meet America's need for more high-tech workers, and I support expanding the H-2A temporary agricultural workers program so that willing workers can help meet America's labor needs. I oppose illegal immigration. The federal government must improve its enforcement of our borders."

Ah, the mist begins to clear. Too bad we didn’t see this sooner. But then again, what were the choices. Boss Tweed said, well over a century ago: “I don’t care who does the voting, as long as I get to do the nominating.” (couldn’t swear to the exact wording)

Yes, this should certainly send George P.’s political aspirations into a tail spin. The irony there is that he’s half Mexican.

For Immediate Release
Office of the Press Secretary
September 6, 2001

President Commends Senate Action on Immigration Legislation

Statement by the Press Secretary

The President commends the Senate for passage of legislation that will help unite families and make America more welcoming of new immigrants. Allowing qualified immigrants to become lawful residents of the United States without first being forced to leave the country and their families is the right thing to do.

This week, President Fox and President Bush have continued to work toward our shared goal of making the migration of families and workers between our nations more orderly, humane, legal, and safe. The President is heartened by the Senate’s action and he looks forward to the House acting quickly to send this legislation to his desk.

Sounds like Steve Forbes and Pat Buchanan were the only clear thinkers on the subject.

The trouble is, like we did his father, “we watched his lips”!

Read my lips, no more Bush family member in any elected office!

What a dismal failure Bush has been. You can list all the "good" things he's done but when he allows the United States of America to be overrun by illiterate and basically unproductive people he has NOT protected this country. He has not lived up to his oath of office.

We are going to be another South American banana republic soon. Once the illegals become legal they will bring their leftist way of life to American politics and the Republican party will be no more.

Anyone that has been involved in local elected politics in Texas where the groups like Lulac and LaRaza know that once they get power this will be a very different county. People like Bush stupidly see all these folks as new people to get taxes from. That will not be the case. Sure, some will be productive but many of their extended families will be on the dole. But what's scary is what they will do with the political power they seek. It will be socialist.

I hate to say that but we need to prepare. No amount of phone calls emails or threats of us not voting are going to stop this immigration bill. When this happens it will be the last straw and time to put up or shut up. I will go down fighting for this country rather than let it turn into another Mexico. Its not racist to want to preserve your own culture/society/country, it’s merely survival, for yourself and your family.

If Bush gets this as fast as he wants it, and signs it, the George P's political aspirations shoot through the roof. "My uncle, President George W. Bush, made it possible for many of you to become citizens!"

Is this not EXACTLY what the illegal entrants do?

They do it = heritage
Majority does it = racism

But look at August 2001:

August 2001

Late in July, the Bush Administration and the Democratic Congressional leadership announced their support for amnesty of 3 million (primarily Mexican) aliens residing illegally in the United States. The Bush Administration and a number of Congressional Democrats and Republicans are also pushing a Guestworker program, possibly including a "stealth amnesty" provision. Certain members of Congress are pushing to expand the amnesty to millions of additional illegal aliens from other countries demanding legalization. The amnesty would both reward lawbreaking and spur U.S. population growth.

You’re right. But what he will actually say is, “Mi tío, presidente George W. Bush, permitió para muchos de ustedes hacer ciudadanos!”
