Heather Poe is Mary Cheney's live-in lesbian lover. She may act like a parent, she may treat the baby as a parent, she may love this baby with all of her heart, but in this reality we all live in, Heather Poe is NOT the baby's real parent. She has NO biological connection to the child whatsoever. Some man, the baby's real Daddy, is the child's other REAL parent.
No wonder I'm confused. I was raised in a foster home by two people who later adopted me when I was around three and half years old. For as long as I can remember, I have referred to these two people as "mom," "dad," and "my parents." Thanks to the Christian News Wire, I now realize that my real parents are not the people who fed me, housed me, clothed me, and cared for me when I was sick -- because I do not have a biological connection to them -- but rather, my real parents are two strangers who I know nothing about other than they were so dysfunctional that social services removed me from them and placed me in foster care and eventually initiated proceeding to terminate their parental rights, which they did not bother to oppose.

Thanks for that post. I have an adopted daughter, and if anyone from the "Christian" News Wire ever dared to suggest that she somehow wasn't really my daughter, they'd have one angry momma to deal with. Why this group is sticking its nose into someone else's private family business (especially our Vice President's family) is beyond me.

Thanks to the Christian News Wire...
No, you have The Parents Group who wrote this article to thank for this. Christian News Wire neither writes nor edits the articles on it site. It is merely a site where Christian groups can present their own press releases.

(I am very cognizant of my fallibility, sinfulness, and other limitations.)
Yes, the woman is doing what an aunt or a family friend who lives with the mother might do. Yes, she is parenting, but she represents a whole new kind of social relationship and it is a relationship I think immoral. What bothers me the most is that some are now saying that I ought not to say that it is immprtal, that I have no right to say this.
