He's even worked out a little story about how he was afraid he wouldn't get treatment if he didn't sneak back into the U.S. Nice try. Clearly he should have been handcuffed when he landed in France.

Did this idiot tell the person he was marrying of his condition? He’s lucky someone who he’s infected doesn’t put a bullet in his head and end the chances of infecting anyone else. That’s disease control!

He told the newspaper he was afraid that if he didn't get back to the U.S., he wouldn't get the treatment he needed to survive. He flew through a couple of countries with socialized medicine - yet he thought the best health care was in America....hmmmmm.

I've co-operated with everything other than the whole solitary-confinement-in-Italy thing." I guess he considers exposing people on his return flight cooperation. He deserves an @SS kickin'.

Then again, disease-ridden illegals come across the border unexamined every day. Sigh. My head hurts.

when he boarded the jets from Atlanta to Paris, and later from Prague to MontrealOK, folks. How did he get from Paris to Greece to Rome to the Czech Republic? While a car is techincally possible, it is highly unlikely. (Last few times I rented in Europe, there was a ban on taking the car into former east-bloc countries, for example).
Second question. How did the CDC track him down in Rome? Perhaps the CIA should be abolished and their functions put under the CDC.

Dr. Howard Njoo of the Public Health Agency of Canada said it appeared unlikely that the man spread the disease on the flight into Canada.
Might a kind Canadian set me hip as to how the hell one pronounces "Njoo"?

We have been letting people infected with AIDS run around freely for about 25 years now. As far as I know they don’t even have to register with the dept. of health and these departments are forbidden by law to even try and track them. It takes a little more effort to contract AIDS of course but given the slavish devotion to “fairness” exhibited by our “leaders” why not let this guy move around freely?
No - I am not serious.
Well, maybe a little.

His name and photo should be posted, and all people who have been in contact with him should be tested.

How much do you want to bet that he’s one of the America-bashing soft liberals that thinks Europe is utopia and that socialized medicine (Hillary’s scheme) is a great idea?

I heard an interview with a CDC doctor yesterday, and was struck by how solicitous she was of the patient's reaction - she didn't want to inconvenience him, she wanted to work with him, etc. If it were motivated by public-health concerns - we have to work with him so he doesn't give us the middle finger and start spreading it all over the country - I could understand, but I didn't get that feeling at all. It was more bedside manner married to the victimization cultura and taken to the extreme.

Something(s) about this story that don’t add up:
1) Did his fiance know about the TB?
2) Why all the trips to different places in Europe?
3) Is it really possible to feel good enough with this type of TB to want to go to a distant country to get married and then go on a honeymoon. If it is this deadly, why didn’t this guy feel terribly sick?
4) Why does he need to go to Denver for treatment?
5) How was he infected?
6) Have his co-workers been notified of possible infection?
To: Cinnamon Girl
I have my own theory that this guy is not a natural-born American citizen. To release details about him at this point in time would rouse more rabble.
