George Bush’s problem is that he thinks that if he
doesn’t address a problem (eg. border security,
mad cow disease, the stolen FBI files,
and the utter alienation of his base)
it will go away.
None will.
Instead, he is reckless and endangering American citizens.

She makes some good points here. We have imported a servant class. They are doing jobs Americans aren’t doing. Since everyone wants their children to be good yuppies and go to college and avoid manual labor and service jobs, those jobs are going to the illegals.
But, if we had real control of the border to stop the illegals, maybe wages and benefits for these lowly jobs would improve, and attract some of the welfare recipients or itinerant members of society who could do these jobs.
There is no easy solutions to the problems of illegals. If there were, this problem would have been solved years ago. But it’s clear that we will not recognize this country in another 20 to 30 years if we continue to have unfettered illegal immigration and a lack of assimilation by these illegals. L.A. and other cities will be transplanted banana republic cities. Demography is destiny, as someone once said. There will be such a critical mass of these unassimilated people that the character and culture of our country will change.

“Until the recipient culture is capable of doing an effective job of Americanizing immigrants, it’s preposterous to talk about a massive influx of Hispanic immigrants accomplishing anything other than turning America into yet another Latin American-style banana republic. And it is simply a fact that no one is trying to turn immigrants into Americans.”

Excellent as usual by Ann...and spot on. The Washington government, such as it is, cares not a bit about the real impact of what they are trying to do. A huge rush to push a ruinous disaster upon the American citizen before he can figure out what happened. I agree with Ann -— our traitors are citizens and many of them in Washington. They do not care about America, only their own political and financial objectives.

Americans -- at least really stupid Americans like George Bush -- Looks like Ann is going to get dropped from the White House invite list. ;-)
But once again, in the rest of the column, she is right on the money.

George Bush IS stupid. For the first time I agree with the Left his intelligence is sub-par - at least when comes to seen what unrestricted illegal immigration would do to America. America is the exception among mankind because we have rules. If we abandon them, we will soon join Darfur, whether neither life, limb, liberty nor property is sacred. Let's not go there with a Green Card in every pot.

Ok - I admit it - Ann Coulter gets printed and put into my bed side reading for tonight.
That said
Anyone who fails to read Ann Coulter is leaving a great read behind.
Like her - hate her
She is brilliant - and a great humorist and a great author.
I love her - though I don’t always agree - she is brilliant.

Yes, this country has absorbed huge migrations of illiterate peasants in the past -- notably Italian immigrants at the turn of the last century. But also notably, half of them went back. We got the good ones. America was not yet a welfare state guaranteeing room and board to the luckless, the lazy and the incompetent from cradle to grave.
Exactly. Defend the borders, stop the welfare and stop giving illegals an incentive to stay here. Time for them to go home and fix their own screwed up countries....they won't do that as long as we continue to give them reason/make it easy not to.
Great article, especially the last paragraph.

To the contrary, immigrants are replacing American culture with Latin American culture. Their apparent constant need to demonstrate is just one example. Mob rule.

Excellent read, Ann. Dhimmis import votes and keep them in permanent bondage to the state. Republicans import a servant class (so do Dhimmis). The elites are happy. The country goes down the drain.

Jorge Bush and Karl Rove are elites that smirk at the Repub base behind close doors.
I just hear Jorge press conference and its time for this guy to be impeached for purposely and intentionally not protecting this country’s border. This entire bill is a huge sell out of this country to his buddies with the big bucks in real estate, agri- Buz, hotels/ entertainment .
The man is a disgrace.
