Kerry's Regrets About John Edwards
TIME Magazine ^ | May. 30, 2007 | Robert Shrum

Posted on 05/30/2007 3:53:09 PM PDT by Baladas

He was comfortable after his conversations with Gephardt, but even queasier about Edwards after they met. Edwards had told Kerry he was going to share a story with him that he'd never told anyone else—that after his son Wade had been killed, he climbed onto the slab at the funeral home, laid there and hugged his body, and promised that he'd do all he could to make life better for people, to live up to Wade's ideals of service. Kerry was stunned, not moved, because, as he told me later, Edwards had recounted the same exact story to him, almost in the exact same words, a year or two before—and with the same preface, that he'd never shared the memory with anyone else. .

On the day the Edwards pick was made public, Edwards and I talked for the first time since I had informed him of our decision to work for Kerry and he had reacted angrily. He said he knew I'd helped get him on the ticket and he was grateful. I told him that I welcomed the possibility that we might be friends again, but that wasn't the reason for my preference. I believed it was the right move for Kerry. Kerry's relationship with Edwards would sour after the election—and mine would simply fade away. When Elizabeth discovered she had breast cancer, John and Teresa reached out to help the Edwardses find the best doctors they could. Marylouise and I called—but afterward, never heard from John again. Maybe we shouldn't have expected to. Kerry told me that the Edwardses simply stopped returning calls or talking to him and Teresa. Within months, Edwards started preparing for a bid in 2008. Kerry said that he wished he'd never picked Edwards, that he should have gone with his gut.

Why in the heck is a liberal magazine like Time “dissing” John Edwards in this article?

1. Shrum is a Dem insider so Time wants to stay connected with him.

2. Edwards is running against Hillary and Obama. The commielibs want Dems to have a choice between Marxist A and Marxist A+.

I'm not sure I can decide what's most disturbing. Is it Edwards for using his son to score political points? Or perhaps it's Kerry for retelling the store to Bob Schrum. Or should I go with Schrum for making it all public?

The three of them seem to deserve each other. Nothing more than a bunch of backstabbing political whores.

Oh, how heart-wrenching it is to hear the tribulations of these self-indulgent, blow-dried, hyper-rich liberal playbabies. If America had elected this vapid filth, then we'd have deserved whatever wrath God had chosen fit to inflict upon us. There are tribes in the darkest part of Africa that have more personal and cultural esteem than these Leftist dungpiles, and I'd certainly rather they lived in my community than a Klinton, Kerry, or Edwards.

Moral of this story is” it’s OK to lie to others but not to each other. Pretty rotten moral huh!

To make way for the pre-ordained candidate for 2008, Hillary.

In the Dictionary under FABULIST:

SYLLABICATION: fab·u·list

PRONUNCIATION: fby-lst

NOUN: 1. A composer of fables. 2. A teller of tales; a liar.

ETYMOLOGY: French fabuliste, from Latin fbula, fable. See fable.

I knew this idiot was French.

That Edwards would use his son’s death as a political prop— words don’t exist to describe how vile that is.

That fall, as a vote loomed on the resolution giving Bush authority to go to war, Edwards convened a circle of advisers in his family room in Washington to discuss his decision.

The managers at my local Costco get extremely irritated when I have to call in my advisors to help me with the decision to purchase Caffeine Free Diet Coke or the Regular Diet Coke.

They never buy anything but they all take hands full of the sample 3-Cheese Tostadas, and the little cups of Powerade.

More like Schrum doing his mistress’s bidding. He has always reminded me of what Napolean said about Tallyrand - minus the silk stocking, of course.

They both spend a lot of money and time trying to improve their appearance. There is nothing that they can do to appear masculine.

There is nothing masculine about a liberal man. They handed in their brass set after the manicures, spray on tans, pedicures, botox and boob jobs.
