“Kids have easy money, and the only thing they know how to do is spend it on video games,” complained Salcaja Mayor Miguel Ovalle. “In this town, school attendance has fallen in part because many go to the U.S., and also because those who stay don’t want to go to school.”

>>Fewer than one in five Hispanic boys enrolled in Denver middle schools graduates from a city high school five years after starting eighth grade<<

These people are absolutely useless and a drain on our society, to put it bluntly.

I have several friends in Europe who have been trying to come to the US for years. Several Romanians in engineering—two of whom just graduated with Master’s degrees. Both are fluent in English. They would come to our country, improve our industries, fill in much needed jobs in the tech sector, pay taxes, and be an all around plus to our nation. They love the idea of America but have been turned down every year.

I have another French friend in trade law. She tried to come here for years. No luck, so she moved to Canada, where they were more than happy to have her.

Instead, we let in Guatemalans and Mexicans who mock our country, it’s rule of law, and those here who pay taxes. A people who refuse to learn to speak English and just scrape bottom the whole way.

Our immigration system is upside down.

paying smugglers as much as $7,000 to guide them into the United States... then they can afford a $5,000 fine and should pay their own hospital bills.

I'll bet you a box of very fine cigars....there's no way in heck many, if any are going to pay that $5k

That all depends on who we elect.

Highly doubt that has ANY bearing...

I'm very pessimistic...when it comes to politicians. I don't trust most of um, and think most are nothing more than a bit higher forms of used car salesmen.

They just are, what they are.
