Tehran, 31 May (AKI) - The Iranian government will press on with its moralization campaign in universities despite nationwide students' protests, a minister has said. Sciences minister Mohammad Mehdi Zahedi told a meeting of university deans Wednesday in Isfahan, central Iran, that "our universities are incredibly distant from the values guiding president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and therefore the Islamization of universities is one of the top objectives of the ministry of sciences."
Students in Tehran, Lorestan, Babol near the Caspian sea, and Shiraz in the west, have been staging protests in the past few weeks against new government measures imposing strict new Islamic dress codes and opening hours on campus as well as restrictions on political activity.
Students are also demanding the reinstatement of professors and deans fired by authorities for being too secular and the release of students' leaders jailed over the protests which are overall against the president’s campaign to purge the universities of all aspects of the reform movement of his predecessor, Mohammad Khatami.

Europe threatened Iran with more sanctions if work on nuclear weapons does not stop. Iran is ignoring these demands, believing having nukes is essential to preserving the Islamic dictatorship in Iran. The Iranian clerics have much to fear, and not just from foreign threats. Their incompetence and corruption has ruined the economy. Unemployment among young Iranians is about 50 percent. Some 40 percent of the population is on the government payroll, and there is not enough oil money to pay off all the people who do support the government (about a third of the population).
Thus the government keeps printing more money, and the result in an inflation rate of over 20 percent. The Iranian people are getting increasingly restless, and, more ominously, surly.
The government has relied on street level gangs of young Islamic conservatives to discourage such behavior. But it isn’t working, and there have been more and more street battles. The government can more readily call in reinforcements, and has won all these brawls so far. But if the government starts losing them, it’s the beginning of the end. Some of the kids have cell phones, a technology the government tried to keep out.
The fear is that a street level disturbance will result in the protestors calling in their own reinforcements, defeating the security forces, and spreading. The clerics fear an event similar to the one that suddenly destroyed communist rule in Russia and Eastern Europe 18 years ago. For that reason, much attention and cash is spent on the street level muscle (the Basij militia), and a constant willingness to use physical violence against any protests or “un-Islamic” behavior.
The universities are being purged of any staff suspected of being disloyal to the clergy. Any contacts with foreigners are being discouraged, as the Iranians fear U.S. groups that go around giving workshops on how to overthrow a dictatorship using non-violent means. Such workshops are held for Iranians across the Gulf, and many Iranians sneak over to participate.

Also remember you must video this with a very expensive DV camera for all us gore freaks, first show from the front then turn to the right so we can see the knife cutting the throat. Think of it this way, If all you have is a hammer, every problem is a nail.
In fact, truth for its own sake can be found only when the truth-seeker is not attached to the outcome and is prepared to accept truth wherever and whatever it may be.
We see interference with search for truth in the West when Political Correctness interferes with the search or the results and when the search threatens Leftist dogma, agenda, or politics.
Western Civilization is based on a ruthless pursuit of truth and, once found, its acceptance.
This is not to suggest that there have not been interferences. The history of Western Civilization is loaded with such interferences--e.g. Galileo's condemnation by the Church, the torture and execution of heretics, blue law censorship, et al. However, the invention of the printing press and all that followed--the Enlightenment--liberated Western Civilization from such incumberences and interferences.
Now, in the 21st century, the decadent Western Left struggles to subdue the Enlightenment and return to restrictions on thought, speech, and the pursuit of truth. When truth threatens Leftist dogma or agenda, Leftists resort to censorship (e.g. shouting down nonconforming speakers, refusing to include unwanted information in news reports, etc.), manipulation, ad hominem attacks, disinformation, name calling, etc.
The Left is illiberal.
Middle America--the last great bastion of Western Civilization; the Enlightenment; liberty; justice; freedom of thought, speech, and inquiry; and the ruthless pursuit of truth--is liberal.
Communications 101
Student will study the proper method for whining about perceived injustices against our beloved religion of peace while delivering the appropriate threats to destroy, behead, and enslave those who claim it is a violent religion. Student will also learn how to write and shout “Death to America” in clear English for the benefit of Western media vultures. Finally, student will observe the decadent media portrayals of women in the west, with emphasis on images of semi-nudity, lustful behavior, and provocative poses, inshallah.

But people might do, say or think the wrong thing. They might eat meat or even (gasp) smoke cigerettes, drive without a seatbelt (the list of sins is virtually endless). No No it’d just better (One might almost say Doubleplus Good) if we let those who are better, smarter, more caring than you & I tell us how to live our lifes.
The Left is obsessed with preventing a clear-minded examination of its dogma, cententions, and beliefs because Leftists know they are false and cannot withstand the light of truth.

When was the last time the Left was correct on any of the big things?
