The angles are all wrong for satellite shots (as in, being from ground level). They may be using cameras, but they’re not orbiting overhead.

Thats what I thought. the pic with the story looks like a security cam. Is google tied in to the security cams?

They are static images taken with an 11-lens camera, they are not live nor updated. They are like the real estate 360 degree home tours. Of course if you were being "bad" when they were snapped, well, Smile, you're on Google Camera.
