Why are the Bushbashers trying to divert a thread about jobs and the economy to a discussion on global warming?

Where’s a good naughty teacher thread when I need one? Of course, even those will be turned into illegal immigration threads, too.

I hope you get some points if you hired the best persons for the job based on those that applied. Doesn’t sound like you hired illegals, that is a plus. It is the concept of illegals and all that it stands for as opposed to the individual people.

End welfare and there will be no need for illegals. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Wow... aren't you the pessimist?
The gov't reports seasonally adjusted numbers. In other words, because of seasonal employment, you would always see spikes in employment in certain sectors at certain times of the year. The government smoothes those numbers out to get a better picture of the economy and to help keep us all from screaming fire everytime there is a seasonal drop.
In
table B-1 of their news release, you can find the non-seasonally adjusted numbers.
That shows an increase of 880,000 nonfarm jobs in the last month.
Imagine what the panic would be like when 700,000 people lost their jobs later in the year if they didn't seasonally adjust the numbers?

With all the money companies have been saving with their slave labor, they can actually afford to hire an American every once in a while. (Or were these new hires, illegals?) (are there statistics for that?)

Yeah, it’s kind-of annoying when people change issues. The economy is doing good, and it will likely improve on growth in coming quarters.
We’ll start to see real wage growth....

Why are the Bushbashers trying to divert a thread about jobs and the economy to a discussion on global warming? You can figure on them trying to change the subject to illegal immigration, but global warming is a stretch . . . seeing that no one even knows what the Bush proposal actually entails.

The only bad news is that the Federal Reserve wont like this news and bond yields are going through the roof.If the Fed doesn't like it and raises short term rates, won't that make long term rates drop?

If the Fed doesn't like it and raises short term rates, won't that make long term rates drop? I'm no expert, but I'd say the answer depends on the slope of the yield curve. For the past year I've been keeping a close eye on the ten year while the yield curve has been mostly inverted. And every time the probability of a rate cut went up, the yield on the 10 year went down. The opposite was also true. I didn't keep as close an eye on the longer term yields, but they seemed to go the same direction as the ten year.
