Fred Thompson was just on the Ron Owens show on KGO Radio in San Francisco. It's the first time that I have heard him speak about politics. He was great!!!!!!
Unfortunately, I missed most of their conversation. However, I did catch his answer about what he thougt of the current immigration bill.
He doesn't like it. He says that securing our borders should be done first before there is any talk of a guest worker program or increasing the number of visas we have.
He said the Amnesty Bill in 1986 also talked about securing borders, but the borders were not made secure.
Fred Thompson sounded at ease and very well informed with the topic. He had lots of numbers and information.
I have been very intrigued with him, but I haven't heard him speak. Now, I have my candidate in the primaries if he runs. He sounded like he was running! Woo Hoo!
Now, I have my candidate in the primaries if he runs.Welcome aboard!
This particular clip comes from BEFORE 9/11. It shows an example, not only of a guy with fantastic communications skills, but of a guy who definitely 'gets it'. Even when 'getting it' wasn't all that popular.
Here's a bit from his speech in Connecticut last week that deals with immigration:

Here's the Thompson interview that Josh Allem is talking about in his monalogue:

Here is Fred's speech at the Lincoln Club last month, which some folks, (mostly Robert Novak) were not very impressed with. I enjoyed the speech. Admittedly, it wasn't Fred's best speech ever, but I still thought it was quite good. This is in 4 parts:

Fred Thompson also has another quality that none of the other candidates have. He has an ability to manipulate the media and ideas that involve using the internet in new ways during the course of his campaign. A little taste of this can be had by looking into the now famous sparring that Fred had with Michael Moore several weeks ago.
That incident started with This idiotic challenge from Michael Moore.
This was Fred's response:

Welcome to friends of Fred:)
He is far and away the finest candidate we have- and will be the first time since Reagan that I’ve been able to vote FOR someone...rather than AGAINST the other guy!!
The more you learn- the more you’ll like him..
