By any normal judgment, the bar (which I have no particular interest in defending) was doing this at least as much for the men as for the women. The idea behind ladies' night is not to give the ladies a price break because they are favored and men are discriminated against. The idea is to bring in the ladies for the men to meet. Everyone wins. But that view is part of the normal, heterosexual view. It might even be part of the past where men actually bought the women drinks, so they were the one's saving money as they seek to impress the ladies.

I suppose the homosexual men get no benefit. What a sad, sick culture we have become.

Part of that decline could be because we are giving free (or reduced cost) drinks to women to liquor them up so that men might have an easier job scoring with them.

I would hope that any father might feel a slight twinge if he hears that his daughter frequents a bar where the women drink for free.

Then why don’t they give the men free drinks as well? You can’t have anti discrimination laws (can’t discriminate in goods and services based on sex, in particular) and then pick and choose when you want to apply it.

What if they had “African Americans Drink Free Night”? All blacks drink for free while whitey pays full price?

How about “Jews Drink Free”, let the Christians pay the overhead of the bar.

How about “Twenty Somethings Drink Free”, let the old geezers pay for the kids free booze.

Can’t pick and choose, it’s all equal for everyone or no one.
