Just where in the Constitution is the Federal government empowered to “combat violent crime”? Or crime in general, other than offenses against federal laws enacted under the powers delegated to the Federal government, such as mail fraud, impersonating a military member, and so forth?

The problem isn’t catching criminals, or even convicting them. The problem is too many liberals don’t keep these folks in jail long enough.
And, yes, the feds should stick to fed issues.
