FEMINIST HILLARY IGNORES PLIGHT OF IRANIAN WOMEN

As I was trying to get my mind around the idea that Iran has arrested 14,635 mostly women in the past few weeks without a media outcry, I wondered where are the feminists? They are suffering from a complete Meltdown writes perceptive Nancy Morgan.

That sound you hear is a scream. Followed by a deafening silence.

But why? Christina Hoff Sommers answers

The reasons are rooted in the worldview of the women who shape the concerns and activities of contemporary American feminism. That worldview is–by tendency and sometimes emphatically–antagonistic toward the United States, agnostic about marriage and family, hostile to traditional religion, and wary of femininity. . . .Preoccupied with their own imagined oppression, they can be of little help to others–especially family-centered Islamic feminists. The Katha Pollitts and Eve Enslers, the vagina warriors and university gender theorists–these are women who cannot distinguish between free and unfree societies, between the Taliban and the Promise Keepers, between being forced to wear a veil and being socially pressured to be slender and fit. Their moral obtuseness leads many of them to regard helping Muslim women as “colonialist” or as part of a “hegemonic” “civilizing mission.” It disqualifies them as participants in this moral fight.

But does Hillary, the feminist who would be president, share their moral blindness? The short, unhappy answer is yes. I Googled Hillary and Iranian women and found two basic items:

1. Hillary is one of 16 women senators to call on United Nations to Press Iran for Immediate Release of Haleh Esfandiari and Parnaz Azima demand the release of the dual American citizens arrested by Iran.

Fair enough. They are cause celebre. But what about the thousands of lesser known Iranian women? Isn’t Hillary calling for “shared responsibility?” That could not possibly translate into: Pay attention only to well situated dual citizens? Well, I did find a website called Iranian.com which included a series of pictures taken with Hillary during a June 2004 campaign event. The caption read:

Iranian women in Los Angeles invited Hillary Clinton to promote the “Iranian Image” in the US. She was just fantastic. Some 200 came on Sunday June 27th and were highly enthusiastic. Her statements were super rich about the future and the need to register and vote and have influence on balancing things in the US.

But June 2004 is not May 2007 you’ll say. I wish - Here is a June 1004 headline Since April 23, 2007, Tehran’s regime has launched an extensive and brutal crackdown on women for “promoting virtues and combating vice.” Thousands of women have been beaten, arrested and warned to follow the strict dress code of the Islamic Republic. Moreover Four Iranian Women were executed in 2004 by public hanging or stoning. There are 14 women to be hanged or stoned to death in coming days, weeks or months.

Now reread the caption. Hillary was not trying to arouse her Iranian-American compatriots to aid the sisters they left behind. Oh, no. She promised to help improve the “Iranian image” which was taking a beating due to its repression of its female population!

You may say this is not fair. But I cannot help but ask, How can a feminist like Hillary, one who cannot tell right from wrong, free from slave, be qualified to run “our country” during these morally perilous times?

I can guarantee you that she too, and Obama, will jump on this band wagon to support IRANIAN women. It would be smart for the GOP candidates to jump on this before she does.

I think the plight IRAQI women is even more interesting as they hold the key for the future of IRAQ in the here and now.

Why would anyone think Hillary would defend helpless women who are oppressed and physically harmed by certain men? She never helped any of the women assaulted by her own husband!!!

14,635 arrested and 14 to be hanged or stoned?

Where is the media outcry? Is there not one women in any American newsroom that cares? Are there any American feminists with a shred of integrity left? As Iranian women are stand up for their freedom why aren’t you standing with them?

The highly visible feminists were never concerned with women. They only used (and continue to use) women to further their leftist ideology. Did Anita Hill support Paula Jones? Did Hillary come to the aid of Juanita Broadrick? I always pointed out this fact to my Clinton loving leftist friends, that these women were Democrats and they were still vilified. Anita Hill told us that women always tell the truth about sexual harassment. But when it came to the Scumbag-in Chief, the victims were punished for speaking out.

Hillary is a feminist? A woman who stays married to a promiscuous whore monger is a feminist?

And .. she has always ignored the plight of the Iraqi women .. and it was only Laura Bush who focused on their issues.

Rush was right .. the feminist movement was not about other women .. it was about all the ugly women who were being ignored by the public.
