>>As Carbonado put it on Free Republic: How bad was the other choice that an inept, tongue-tied goober like Dubya looked like the better choice?
Howie Carr column ping
for those joining us (non-pingers) for the first time,
Howie Carr is the Master of Fried Clams and Tar-Tar
Sauce. The FAWMOR (Funniest Angry White Man on Radio),
heard all over New England and worldwide on howiecarr.com
and he has been a longtime writer for the Boston Herald
and author of “The Brothers Bulger”. (That’s for the few
who may not know of Howie yet. DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?)
Ouch. THAT left a bruise. And totally accurate, too.

There were two pretty good reasons to vote for President Bush. Al Gore and John Kerry. But for now, it is dreadful to watch President Bush “put asunder” the Republican Party.
The truth hurts. Especially here on FR.
Good article. It sums up nicely how Bush’s recent actions are no longer those of a conservative. I don’t even know what to call him anymore.
My name is Sopwith . and I have BDS.
Actually those bumper stickers say it this way:
“1.20.09”, so European...
yes—in both elections, W was the lesser of the two
evils, or was that the evil of the two lessers?
He's a globalist, pure and simple. He's looking beyond "America" as a defined nation state, into "America" the North American intra-national economic system. That's the future he's maneuvering towards. Once you realize that, he's actions will all make a lot more sense.
Carbonado, you’re mentioned...

‘Neoliberal’ seems to be the new term.
>>It wasnt supporting George Bushs war that doomed McCain, it was supporting his amnesty bill.
McCain sound clip: “I’m proud to have been a small part of
it.”
You know, I just don’t like his columns much. They don’t read well to me. Of course, I love his radio show (which I can’t get on the subway, grrr).
How’s his book?
I do, but they'd probably ban me from FR if I said it.

> those wonderful illegal aliens who, according to Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), are killing an average of 25 Americans a day?
Well I’m not a fan of the Mex’s and generally I like King. But every pol goes off his nut now than then — and this was King’s turn.
Captain’s Quarters, a blog nobody has ever accused of being liberal, points this out here: http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/mt/archives/008597.php
There are enough good reasons to fight illegals without turning to made-up ones.
His book is great but there are so many people in it (various
criminals and politicians—not much difference in MA)
that it’s tough to keep track of all of ‘em in your mind.
Howie nails this one right outside the ballpark.
I know what to call him, and I do at least 50 times a day. Repeating it on this forum would get me banned so I will stifle for now.
