Hmmm, where to begin? First of all, everything that you posted is supposition with no scriptural backing. Second, Elohim is God of the Universe not just a planet. Third, Mormons goal is to become One with Elohim, Christ and the Holy Spirit.

That is correct, there is NO Scriptural basis for this belief, but it is a part of Mormon belief. Elohim was once a man who became God. That means Elohim HAD to have a father, and so would HE.

This is one reason why Mormonism is not Christian at all, but some offshoot.

As for what a Mormon might suggest or pass as laws that I would not believe, SETI is one, and a complete waste of government money. There are no aliens.

It also cannot be denied that previous Mormon doctrines were dangerous and violent. Thankfully, they stopped preaching the things they used to preach, but that part of their history shows it NEVER came from the Bible, yet they claimed it as God's word itself.

Strange things like 10 foot tall men who live on the moon and dress like quakers.

Strange things like how many of the angels who rebelled with Satan were cast down to Earth and given black skin which is where Negros came from.

It took until 1975 for the Mormon church to allow black people into the priesthood in mormonism, their racism and prejudice, taught to them as GOD INSPIRED, remained until recently.

Things like that. They make it up as they go along. What is the Mormon Church going to make up next?

Muslims DO NOT worship the God of Abraham, they worship Allah, who was previously a moon god, a pagan god of that geographic area.

The God of Abraham told Abraham to offer ISAAC on the sacrifice, Muslims believe it was ISHMAEL.

The Bible clearly states this, and it is absurd to claim they worship the same God of the Bible as Christians and Jews.

I’m sorry to say, I think some Christians doubt the Immaculate Conception.

Yes, I will state that many of them are. They do not wish the world to see them as they are.

They have secret (sacred) ceremonies, and Temple buildings where only the very best are allowed, only the “good” mormons may attend. Try to get a straight answer out of them. Try it with Romney.

Some background on me just in case you’ve missed it before. I was born into a five generation LDS home, baptized at eight, graduated from MIA and Seminary, Temple Married. I stayed a true believer until I was in my mid twenties. I spent the next twenty years as an agnostic, and so I really didn’t see the big difference between LDS and Christianity. Five years ago I became a new creature in Christ. There is a difference. If any Mormon tell you there isn’t, he/she is a liar.

Christians are commanded to test the spirits, and that means you HAVE to make judgements.

just do a little rreading on what the doctrines of the Mormon church, it is NOT Christinity at all.

1978 (not 1975) until the blacks could hold the priesthood. Mitt was a thirty year old man by that time.

He professes to follow Mormonism and so I must look to Mormonism to determine if his fig tree is bearing thistles or not.

Is that the instruction that Jesus Christ and the Apostles provided? You ignore a man's heart and life in searching for the fruit of Spirit?

"Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." Galatians 5:21-23

Supposed Christians who unrighteously judge Romney always ignore this plain instruction and admonition. They talk dismissivly of how "perfect" his personal and family life "appear" and then quickly move on to judge him by non-scriptural standards.

Romney is 60 years old. He has been in the public eye for most of that time. His life is an open book. I suggest you look for living fruit of the Holy Spirit in his personal and family life. You have an abundance of evidence to sift through. Ted Kennedy and his thugs sifted through it with the finest of filters and came up empty. Maybe you'll have better luck.

Tell me: how does one draw clean water from a foul well?

I prefer to follow Jesus Christ and judge the heart and look for living fruit of the Holy Spirit in a man's personal and family life.

No need to apologize. You must admit, it does sound a bit strange to outsiders.

I have a hard time explaining Christianity to my Buddhist and Muslim friends. However, if the doctrine is sound, it should be able to stand tough questioning.

Hey colorcountry, thanks for replying!

You know, I make excursions to Salt Lake a lot—in fact it’s where the pic on my profile page was taken :)—and naturally I have a lot of LDS friends. I never bothered to ask any of them why only a certain portion of the flock gets sheared, other than to sarcastically say “if you guys are making out in there, I’m gonna be really mad!” ;)

I might have to do that sometime...

(BTW, I’m familiar with some LDS nomenclature, but MIA is a little foreign to me. If you don’t mind elaborating I’d appreciate it. Thanks.)

That was my point! :-D

*************** Bahai's and Buddist are very good people. Do they believe in Christ? How do you know? Are we allowed to judge the tree they grow on?

Still my point is this: Even if you convince even several FR posters that you are right. How many will I convince that I am right? How many will still judge Romney on his Mormonism (right, or wrong). Like I said Romney is tainted. There simply are too many Christians who believe he follows an apostate form of Christianity (Ooops isn't that what all Mormons believe about Christians - perhaps we have reached a stalemate, No?)

Mutual Improvement Association (I believe). It is a teen outreach (for lack of a better term).

It isn't a contest between you and me. The scriptural standard is plain. Let the Spirit convince them according to Jesus Christ's plain words.

You are correct. Thanks for the reminder....and yet still I am told to take the message of the Gospel (good news) of eternal life (salvation) in Jesus Christ to the world.

Mormons believe in salvation through the atonement “after all you can do.” And are admonished to be perfect (hence the “good works” of Romney)

You do realize, don't you, that if you are suggesting that Romney has a devil, and that accounts for his unblemished personal and family life, you are treading a very fine--and frightening--line?

“’Gov. Romney do you really believe that YOU may someday become a god yourself and inherit your own planet’”

“Of the increase of his (Christ’s) government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”

OF THE INCREASE of Christ’s government . . . shall be no end. The increase never ends. Christ’s Kingdom, after He has established it on David’s throne, will get bigger and bigger continuously . . . endlessly. Oh, it is very more than likely, that there will be planets in outer space available. I have no biblical reason to discount that possibility in the eternal state. And why not? The evolutionary scientists are trying to find a reason for the universe. Did anyone ever think that it will be there to settle billions upon billions of subjects of Christ’s endlessly increasing Kingdom?

BUT(!) No other gods. We don’t become gods. We won’t settle outer space as gods in the way that Mormonism might claim.

Let me tell you this Eccles because it is one of the single biggest differences between Christianity and Mormonism..... ......Romney does NOT have an unblemished life. Perhaps his sins are not glaring or exposed, but they are there.

Every one of us has blemishes....that is why we need Christ, or is Romney too perfect? ... you are treading a very fine--and frightening--line?

My very Catholic democrat MIL brought up Mitt Romney and his religion, calling Mitt a Christian. I said make that with a small c as he is hardly a Christian. I challenged her on it till she backed down. Our concession was that he appears to be a very decent man, married to the same woman for life, raised a respectable family, and has what appear to be good morals. She finally admitted he is NOT a Christian..........I had to point out that the muslim religion acknowledges Jesus, too, but not as thier saviour. At that point she caved on Mitt being a Christian and admitted the mormans don’t hold Jesus with any more esteem than do the muslims.
