It was my understanding that Israeli security is even worse...but the “Gas chamber” sounds like an explosive detector..

When I flew to Israel nine years ago (well before 9/11) the security they put me through was pretty brutal: opening and examining all of my luggage (including keeping the better part of if and leaving me to board with only a carry-on), forcing me to take a picture with my camera to show it wasn't actually a weapon of some kind, having me walk so as to ascertain if I was carrying a concealed weapon). I understood it was an unfortunate necessity because of the constant terrorist threat they've lived with every day since before they became a state.

Part of me sympathizes with this lady. I wish there were a simpler way to maintain airport security (like ethnic profiling, if necessary).
