Amnesty for Who? -- Proposed Immigration Bill Leaves Many Skeptical ("Restrictions must be removed")
New American Media ^ | Jun 03, 2007 | Final Call, News Analysis, Charlene Muhammad

Posted on 06/03/2007 1:37:15 PM PDT by BornInASmallTown

In their statement regarding the proposed legislation, Chicago-based La Familia Latina Unida/Sin Fronteras, headed by Emma Lozano said that the bill was a “long time coming,” and recognizes that this nation needs the labor of those who are here without documents. However, the bill “It falls short in recognizing the dignity of the individual and the sanctity of the family: Values it proclaims as the foundation of the republic; It falls short in recognizing its own responsibility for the system of undocumented labor it has operated and benefited from for decades.”

Ms. Lozano’s organization also addressed the issue of whether the bill really does grant amnesty to the undocumented worker, or if this is just another method of exposing those who are in this country “illegally,” and heaping upon them unjust fines and actions. “Is it an amnesty? It is not an amnesty for the undocumented who will be subjected to probationary restrictions, arbitrary rules of exclusion, excessive fines and long waiting periods.

“It is an amnesty for the businesses who knowingly employed millions of undocumented workers, for the banks which loaned them money, for the I.R.S. and the Social Security Administration that knowingly took their taxes and for the millions of citizens who knowingly participated in the system in which these workers produced the wealth and benefits they enjoyed.

“The probationary period is too long, the fines are too high, and restrictions against those whose only violations of the law are related to work or to entry without inspection must be removed.”

It's never enough.

Give them amnesty...and they want more.

After all, it is our fault.

Mass deportation is sounding better every day...

“MUST be removed”??

Notice how these illegal foreign nationals are so arrogant as to try to dictate to Americans what our own laws should say??

You know, if abortions had been made illegal, we would have had this much needed workforce today....if that is the case at all. Now, say we have this workforce, and let’s say the economy takes a downturn...now they’re a burden.

If this bill passes every QAmerican who owes back taxes shouyld file a request Z-pass or whatever it is called and demand “amnesty” for their own misdeeds.

As a matter of fact I think every American should request the Z-pass

As I have posted in other threads on immigration, even the 12 million number was a total guess by somebody in D.C. and was not even remotely based on any factual data. About a month or two ago, I read an article (I had thought by one of the founders of the Minuteman) who had worked with one of the think tanks to attempt to derive a better number. His estimate was between 35 and 55 million.

But the scary part about this amnesty bill is how it expands the number of illegals whatever the number. Let’s assume for discussion that the number is as low as 20 million...watch what happens under this bill.

In 1986 just less than 3 million illegals were granted an amnesty (US citizenship); they each brought up on average 5 more family members who also instantly became US citizens, so 3 million X 5 = 15 million + the original 3 mil = 18 million. Now consider the 20 million that have come up since 1986 get amnesty under this new bill, and they haul up 5 more each: 100 million + that 20 = 120,000,000. And what if the existing number is 50 million, the new total will become 250+50=300 million new neighbors. Now consider where they fall economically? At the bottom, unlike legal immigration where we now expect something of value, these illegals bring nothing but 3rd grade educations and the trappings of a failed culture, like grafiti and 3rd world diseases.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TO AMNESTY!!!!

Unlike legals, illegals don't have to survive a criminal background check, meet any kind of public health standard or pass a competency test.

Why is it so important that we let twelve (or twenty) million such intruders stay in the country?

Don’t worry. If this junk legislation passes the restrictions will be relaxed in the coming years when the democrats have huge majorities and control over everything as a result of the tens of millions of new democrat voters this original legislation is going to provide them.

They are bold and arrogant because there are enough of them here now to throw their weight around. Remember that when you hear about the demands that US Muslims are making these days, too. You can thank GW for the open borders and for bringing in thousands of Iraqi refugees (also known as future terrorists). We’re starting to look more and more like Europe every day - sowing the seeds of our own destruction.

CALL! CALL! CALL! CALL! AND KEEP CALLING TILL THE LINES FRY!

WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! TILL YOU RUN OUT OF INK IN YOUR PEN!

Bombard the Democrats as well, especially the ones that ran on an anti illegal immigration plank and the ones in marginal districts who could be vulnerable. keep pounding on them. This is a bipartisan issue not a Conservative or Liberal issue BUT AN AMERICAN issue.

STOP AMNESTY NOW!! WE CAN DO IT!!

The best way to stop Shamnesty

Oh, so now we OWE the illegals something because we used them?

Since when do we reward low-skill undocumented illegal labor? Since when do we reward the majority of them for taking jobs away from our American citizens. Carpenters, brick layers, land-scapers, cooks, maids...etc. How many of them actually pick fruit?

Enough of this insanity.

Go home!! Out!! Now!!

“How many of them actually pick fruit? “

1 or 2 percent.

And they have STOLEN 250,000 construction jobs from Americans, many of them veterans to boot!

I prefer self-deportation. Heck, have the taxpayers throw in a Greyhound ticket and two days worth of Happy Meals.
