My 2 favorite Rons: Reagan and Paul

Posted on 06/04/2007 5:51:33 AM PDT by keyd

Ron Paul was one of only six incumbent Republican Congressmen to support Ronald Reagan over Ford in 1976. In fact, Dr. Paul led the Texas delegation for Reagan to the nominating convention.

I now have that “One of these things is not like the other” song from Sesame Street running through my head.

Reagan understood history. Paul has no clue.

Reagan understood history for his time. Paul understands the world has changed. The voter understands what entertainment is scheduled to be on the TV.

You have it backward.

Reagan salted his cabinet with big-government socialist one-world neo-cons.

I'm confident Ron Paul would at least be aware of the danger, and quite likely avoid promoting the demise of our country.

You have to know history to avoid repeating it.

I liked Reagan for his decisiveness, his leadership, his backbone, his communication skills, his patriotism, and his honesty.

I like Ron Paul for his entertainment value.

Reagan understood history for his time. Paul understands the world has changed.

Some things never change...

History teaches that war begins when governments believe the price of aggression is cheap.
~Ronald Reagan

People do not make wars; governments do.
~Ronald Reagan

Protecting the rights of even the least individual among us is basically the only excuse the government has for even existing.
~Ronald Reagan

...no mother would ever willingly sacrifice her sons for territorial gain, for economic advantage, for ideology.
~Ronald Reagan

A people free to choose will always choose peace.
~Ronald Reagan

Peace is not absence of conflict, it is the ability to handle conflict by peaceful means.
~Ronald Reagan

We must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women.
~Ronald Reagan

Our reluctance for conflict should not be misjudged as a failure of will.
~Ronald Reagan

History teaches that war begins when governments believe the price of aggression is cheap.
~Ronald Reagan

Government's first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives.
~Ronald Reagan

The defense policy of the United States is based on a simple premise: The United States does not start fights. We will never be an aggressor.
~Ronald Reagan

People also called Reagan a nutjob at first. It didn't make it true.

The only blowback from Reagan bombing Libya was that Ghadaffi stopped blowing up our nightclubs.
