The timing of the "triggers" is just a smokescreen.

These illegal foreign nationals will all be made "legal" on day 1, and that is a bell that will not be unrung.

In a blow to President Bush's timetable, the CBO said the security "triggers" that must be met before the guest-worker program can begin won't be met until 2010. Mr. Bush had hoped to have those triggers -- setting up a verification system, deploying 20,000 U.S. Border Patrol agents and constructing hundreds of miles of fencing and vehicle barriers -- completed about the time he leaves office in January 2009.HAHAHAHGAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHGAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

500,000 more illegal aliens within a decade

Multiply this by at least twenty and you might be closer to the truth. The government keeps telling us there are twelve million illegals here. That amounts to about four percent of the population. Am I the only one who finds it curious that virtually every customer service system in the country offers Spanish or English .... to accommodate four percent of the population?

Heck, if I truly believed that it would send 25% of the illegals home, I'd go for it... as long as we made sure that it was merely a good start!

Sadly, though, even that 25% is a lie.

In the article: The report said the bill would increase discretionary spending by $43 billion over the next decade, but new workers would pump $48 billion into the government, mostly in Social Security taxes, during that time.

Is the CBO stupid? You can't offset the spending for the program with the social security taxes they pay, because the social security taxes are needed to pay their social security, and probably their net effect ON SOCIAL SECURITY is a negative.

In other words, that 48 billion in "new" SS payments probably accrues a much larger than 50 billion dollar LIABILITY. So the 43 billion in costs is real costs, not offset by taxes, except for the fact that we are using the social security taxes to HIDE the deficit.
