VIENNA (Reuters) - Austrian oil and gas group OMV had discovered and successfully tested gas in its Tajjal 1 exploration well in the Gambat exploration block in Pakistan, it said on Monday.

"(This) is the second this year after the announced Latif discovery in March," said OMV in a statement. "Both discoveries confirm the potential for further reserves in this area."

Test results showed the well was capable of flowing around 3,400 boe/day from the tested zone, according to OMV.

The new discovery is located close to two of OMV's gas fields, Miano and Sawan, which were brought on stream in 2001 and 2003.

OMV said it planned to drill further exploration wells and tie-in its new discovery with its Sawan processing plant, some 15 km away.

This should make you happy. Now India can be even more dependent on Pakistan for energy.

India will be paying billions to the Pakistani army precisely for the purpose of crushing Balochi resistance to “protect” the Iran-Pakistan-India pipeline which will run through Balochistan.
