President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday warned the UN Security Council against imposing new sanctions against Iran over its nuclear drive, telling the world body it risked playing with a "lion's tail".
"We advise them not to indulge in child's play. Our actions are legal and Iran is a great country," Ahmadinejad said at a news conference.

Iran is a great country, - for nuclear testing of American weapons.
Why does he bother warning the UN about anything? They will do nothing, will not stop him, unless countries like US, UK, Australia get involved.

In the Persian way of negotiating, by issuing blusterous statements his attempt is to show his superiority to a select audience. He is not making these statements for our consumption, because he knows we think he is nuts, but for the home crowd which he has a huge problem, his own people. As long as their information gap is kept wide he gains more power domesticly by creating the image of a big fish in the pond.
The real issue is that this pip-squeak is about to obtain a very big hammer and we all know to stay away from the little guys in fights that have that “look” in their eyes. They figure they are going down anyway so why not do as much damage in the process.
You can play with the lion’s tail with one hand, if in the other hand you have an elephant gun.
