You just have to learn to parse Clintonspeak more finely.
Hillary will hold to her promise if she brings the troops home by reducing US forces in Iraq by 10,000 in her first 100 days as Commander-in-chief. She will end the war in Iraq by negotiating a hands-off approach to Iran which allows them to continue to develop their nuclear program as long as they stop supporting the insurgents in Iraq with arms and money. She will continue to draw down the number of troops in Iraq so that when the time comes for her re-election, we will have fewer than half the 152,000 troops we have there today. 75,000 troops is still a potent force and 2012 is a long ways away.
Of course, bringing the second half home will be a theme of her second campaign. How else are we going to have a peace dividend to spend on more public health care?
