You are obviously an evil capitalist, econjack, :). Liberals easily defeat your factual and logical arguments with emotional claims of trickle down economics. You will never change the mind of a liberal. Fortunately, many former wage earners have been forced into the ranks of entrepreneurs due to offshore outsourcing of jobs. They are learning capitalism the hard way and becoming believers.

You are obviously an evil capitalist, econjack,... Guilty as charged. I also know that you cannot change the mind of a liberal. One of my colleagues and I got into a debate over this very issue. When I finally got him into a logical corner from which there was no escape, he responded: "That may be so, but I refuse to believe it." When an educated person takes that kind of stance, how can you hope to win an argument with them that is based on reason?

didnt Robin Hood steal from the over-taxing government to give to the poor?Yup.
This has been twisted by modern socialists to say that he "stole from the rich and gave to the poor".
The reason the King was so pissed at Robin Hood (as the fable goes...) is because he was robbing from the government and giving to the poor.

“The Republicans’ need to hit hard on the idea that increased taxes deprives Americans of free choice as to how their income is spent. One motto they might use is:
Who knows how to spend your money better: You or some politician in Washington?”
Exactly. The more money I have in my pocket, the more likely I am to help my family and my community. Then it becomes less likely that family and community need outside assistance. I can give money or material items to the charity of my choice.
My choice. Not the Dems’ choice. Not Hillary’s choice.

The problem that leftists have with the “rising tide” argument is that THEY aren’t in CONTROL of that rising tide,
and they also whine and complain, and shout the proverbial 12 yr old girl’s “UNFAIR!” when the rising tide benefits the bigger boats more than the dingies.

The American experiment has been so successfull that the citizens are fat and lazy. As a result, class envy is the only thing left for them. The Dems are very good at using that jealousy to implement their socialist ideals.

Exactly! When you loose your job at age 40+ and have to live by your wits and start your own business, that’s when you become a true believer in free enterprise. Making a payroll is a tremendous learning experience. Your arguments will be compelling to someone like this. I speak from experience.

The Productive vs Un-Productive ROI is certainly a very poignant argument....could use examples possibly like:
Your choice of all investments for your retirement, either 1)ENRON 2)EXXON.

What I don’t understand is why we (i.e., Republicans) let them get away with it. It’s a pretty well-known fact that those dipping into the entitlements trough do not vote at the same pace as the productive members of society. So why do we let this minority push us around? The Republican politicians need to quit worrying about themselves and re-election, grow a pair, and start doing what’s right for the rest of us who make this economic engine tick. If they'd do that, they would have no problem getting re-elected.

I think it is because the Republican Politicians are as much about feeding at the trough as the liberal voters. They are only concerned about maintaining their power. If they really cared about this country we would see a completely different tone in DC.
