I didn’t watch the debate last night, but I did hear Romney’s response to the Mormon question. Very well done. I think the response was positive because most Americans are affronted when the MSM questions someone’s beliefs (it reminded me of George W Bush’s response in the 2000 debates.)
The irony of it all is that I think the obsession with the Mormon factor is actually helping Romney. First, because it only gives him more media exposure, and second, because when people see the way that Romney and his family actually live their lives and how Romney graciously conducts himself when he's under pressure or is ridiculed, they realize that all of the attacks on his personal religious beliefs are silly and mundane and they start feeling sympathetic towards him.
