Senate approval rate sinks even lower — if that’s possible.

Are you a republican? No, but I once was called a lemming....

Now I am a proud conservative, waiting for others to join me to throw the bums out.

Dear Constituents,

We’re gonna ram these 12-20 million illegals down your throats whether you like it or not!

Now STFU and gedt off our backs.

Sincerely,

Your Congress Person.

Great - they just voted for more felons.

Do they even read these things?

Not that this excuse is ANY real justification, but there are HUNDREDS of people in the USA who for various reasons felt they didn’t get a fair trial in Mexico. Sometimes the courts in Mexico render verdicts that go to the highest bidder. Sometimes evidence brought in to cout is never seriously challenged, and there are many honest people who had to leave Mexico or face prison sentences. In Mexico we have American felons who felt they got a bad lawyer, or a mean judge trying to cuddle up to a special interest group. A lot of sex offenders have taken up residence in Mexico. Many of them felt it was real harsh, a sex offense between an 18 year old and his 15 yr. old consenting girlfriend, to have to report every month for testing. In Mexico the posture is that if you came to this country with a legal battle in the US, as long as you haven’t violated Mexican law, they don’t require you to bring a police report saying you have no outstanding legal issues facing you in your home country. Some of those who fled to the US in my opinion took LOTZ AH money with them, and are wanted in Mexico for fraud, embezzlement and extorsion. They probably have political clout now in the USA, and could figure in to some of the leniency that the voting today exhibits.

That is just the tip, this whole illegal amnesty is absolutely going to cause a lot of forced retirement of many Republicans and some Democrat politicians.

This will not stand.
Most everyone is pissed.
Payback is a (you know what).

There's never been one in the history of Congress, and that is taken by some to mean that it cannot be done, but there is nothing in the Constitution forbidding it. Specific remedies within the Constitution are censure and expulsion, both of which are accomplished via a vote within the House or Senate, whichever House is involved. There is a Wisconsin State Supreme Court ruling, from 1979, however, that directs the Wisconsin State Board Of Elections to proceed with preparations for recall of a member of the US Senate, and to only stop at the direction of a court of law with jurisdiction over the matter. Of the states that make provision for recall elections, only two expressly forbid recall elections of US Senators or Representatives, North Dakota and Oregon. My home state, North Carolina, does not make any provision for recall elections, at any level, but I believe 36 other states do. I can find the thread where I was discussing this with a FReeper from Georgia, regarding Chambliss and Issakson, if you'd like. It was just last week.

yes, when I was at work this morning, I heard about this on the radio, and my jaw dropped. I think we’re all living in an episode of the Twilight Zone.

People don’t throw the word hate around much anymore- everyone wants to be so inclusive. But you knwo what? I am really starting to hate my own government. I wouldn’t pee on the capitol building if it were on fire.

The amendment would have restricted the number of illegal immigrants eligible to remain in the country. It was defeated 51-46 when Republican Sens. Larry Craig (Idaho), Pete Domenici (N.M.), Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Chuck Hagel (Neb.), Jon Kyl (Ariz.), Richard Lugar (Ind.), Mel Martinez (Fla.), John McCain (Ariz.), Arlen Specter (Pa.) and George Voinovich (Ohio) voted with the majority of Democrats to defeat the language.

The recall discussion begins at reply #33, my question to SittinYonder about provision for recall in the State of Georgia. There also was an earlier thread I’d participated in and discussed the topic, but I’m not certain of the title or to whom I replied, so it’s a little tougher to go back and find. There is a hyperlink to the PDF with the specific legal opinion from the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of Wisconsin in 1979; the funny thing is, this PDF was created by the office of Richard Lugar, who appears to be on the amnesty bandwagon (oh, the irony).

I tried calling his Idaho office today they are not answering the phone. They are probably hiding under their desks. The folks in my part of Idaho are ready to start preparing the tar and feathers for his next trip home. He will get one hell of an ear full. He is not up for re-election for a while but, many will not forget his treason against the “rule of law.” He is toast come the next election.

Correction, it was the Attorney General of the State of Wisconsin, not the Chief Justice.

It’s a black day. I expect we’ll see a healthy blip in gun sales corresponding to this date.

It’s clear that the safety of American citizens matters little to the government.
