Bush 'surprised' by conservative anger
The Washington Times ^ | June 06, 2007 | Jon Ward & Ralph Z. Hallow

Posted on 06/06/2007 6:38:28 PM PDT by de meanr

"He was surprised by the reaction," Mr. Snow said of Mr. Bush's speech in Glynco, Ga., last week. "The speech in Georgia was, 'We've got a serious problem and we need to fix it.' It was not in any way designed to be pointed at Republicans." But conservative opponents of a Senate immigration bill supported by Mr. Bush reacted furiously to the president's suggestion that they are resorting to scare tactics by using the word "amnesty" in referring to the measure that would allow millions of illegal aliens to remain in the United States.

I’d like ot know why a lot of things have been happening the last 2 years . Why Sandy Berger was let go . Why the Republican Party totally wimped out and sits there and lets the Dem morons b*tch slap them all over the place without saying a word in defense. Now Bush and Ted Kennedy are kissing cousins > La Rasa are funded in part by Soros . What the hell is going on ? Maybe someone has something BIG on Bush and they are taking full advantage of it now ? Something stinks to me ...BIG TIME !

“There is only one form of “amnesty” I would go along with.

If the illegal goes home and gets in line behind everyone already waiting to come in the legal way, then I’ll forgive them for having come in illegally the first time.”

Personally, I disagree.

These “MAGGOTS” aren’t WORTHY of ANYTHING!!!

“They” have ALREADY demonstrated a healthy DISREGARD for OUR PRINCIPLES AND WAY OF LIFE.......

TO HELL WITH THEM!!

CALL “them” for what they are (PARASITES) and let it go at that.

I'm a very busy sonservative.

Bush's damn shamnesty makes for a lot of work keeping the heat on him. I am sad that Tony has largely flushed his credentials for the man. C´est La Vie

Loyal to his staff??

Scooter Libbey might disagree.

Bush is a coward. To afraid to fire klinton appointees. To afraid to fire Rumsfeld who screwed us big time in the occupation of Iraq. To afraid to fight the demoncraps. To afraid to stop fitzgerald who ran amok. To afraid to pardon Libbey. Bush is a coward.

I'm afraid that Tony's attempt at damage control was crude, corney, and inneffective.

Try again, Tony.

Eleanor Clift and Ted Kennedy both. How many red flags does he need? Maybe if Putin complained about the bill, the President would reconsider.

The bill does not require them to return to Mexico. That has to be done if they want citizenship. Most will just stay and the problem will continue!

It works this way, Mr President.

We bust our butts to keep our families fed, clothed, and get our kids the kind of education which will permit them to do the same for our children.

We pay our taxes, seldom get a break, and seldom ask for one.

All we expect is that everyone else have to go by the same rules we have to go by.

It appears they do not. It appears they will be rewarded for breaking our laws (as they have been) with the fruits of our labors, to the detriment of our own children, grand children, and their progeny.

Think about that and you might begin to understand why we are pissed off.

I am sick of having to look for the instructions in 'Ingles', I am tired of pressing a number for English.

I have had it with people who are here illegally claiming we 'stole' land ceded as the result of a war, or later purchased--and getting away with it because although no child was left behind, they were not taught about the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, or the Gadsen Purchase.

Oh no, instead, student's time is spent worshipping the annointed of various movements at the altars of political correctness, when not ritually bagging vegetables in latex, in preparation for a job either picking them or bagging them at the grocery store.

But God help them if they mention Jesus in school and he isn't a Latino, because only God will.

You wonder why we are mad?

Give us the real numbers.

THIRTY MILLION sounds closer to the truth than the bogus twelve million which is still being bandied about. THIRTY MILLION who have invaded our nation, and the borders are still not secure.

The average cattle rancher here has put up more fence than the Federal Government in the last decade.

Wonder why we are mad?

We expect politicians to bend the truth here and there, we expect the numbers to be skewed.

That goes with the territory. We are going to be lied to and we know it.

But we resent the hell out of being played for suckers.

So when it comes push to shove, I guess the question is: Are you a Texan, or just another northeastern politician who went carpetbagging?

Your answer, sir, will be made manifest in your actions.

Words are just too damned cheap at this point.

LOL I would think people would want to know. Of course, it’s the industrial military complex that Eisenhower warned us of so many years ago. Big business and government.

Oops! To afraid to prosecute Sandy Berger. To afraid to go after klinton’s staffers who trashed my Whitehouse. To afraid to veto McCain-Feingold. To afraid to go after voter fraud so my vote means nothing.

It’s not even his base he’s out of touch with. It’s America in general - most dems and pubs alike.

That speech was a direct insult to conservatives and, absent an apology, the last straw for me.

I have voted for Bush as governer and president.

He no longer has my support.
