And it seems like they are/were punishing the kids for the actions of others. Great little lesson to give them as they are graduating.

Maybe it has gotten silly, but at the same time, I can just imagine that the politically correct crowd are behind some of this - they don't like some people being cheered/singled out since it may make others feel neglected or whatever.
