The Control Feaks who pushed this Amnasty will not stop... we do need to push a Security alternate as well as shame the ProAmnesty politicos...why the big rush????
I think they are worried that a slowing economy will decrease demand for Illegal Labor as will a large terror attack and possibly a civil disruption that will start in the Illegal Community and spread. The US leadership would then be forced to admit the dangerous situation the country is in due to their law breaking failures.

Mexican nationals have no allegiance to the United States.

Mexico is not our friend and never has been.

Mexico opposes our war efforts.

Mexico is an enemy.

Mexico sucks.

“Republican negotiators” means the traitors McCain, Specter and Goober Graham.

These guys’s crebibility as Republicans — pretty low to begin with — has been destroyed forever by this Shamnesty abomination.

So what have they got to lose to try to resurrect it, Jason-like, again and again.

We need to keep the pressure on these buttclowns and let them know they will not railroad us again.

BTW, the list posted at the top of this thread is WRONG. McCain DID vote to support cloture, and the list given of who did and didnt vote is incorrect. Partway down the thread the correct list of turncoats is given;

and lets not forget Mel Martinez, the hand-picked choice of Jorge Boosh to be senator from fla and ALSO head of the RNC.

What a frookin JOKE

I still think it will be back sooner than later. I have NO trust in the GOP anymore..........................

Therein lies their problem. They never dreamed that the natives would oppose their “wisdom” on this.

They have been telling us what they wanted us to hear (before the elections) for so many years, then doing what the Kennedy crowd wanted, to the point where they considered us irrelevant.

They are NOT going to change their stripes. They will try again and undoubtedly with some sneaky, meaningless amendments designed to fool us.

All of this will hopefully develop into a cohesive and orgainized strategy down the road-——to banish them from the American scene.

We now know for sure who our political enemies are. They are those who (without conscience) would throw our country into the corrupt and violent “world community”-—and without regret.

We also now know who is with us, and that is the best news of all!

I just think these guys have to pay. I’d love to see each and every one of them in tight primaries.

I'd like to see them all out on their a$$es. Maybe Mexicans will appreciate them; I sure as hell don't

Isakson is a pompous country club Republican who I despised only slightly less than the Democrat who ran against him. He is not by any means a conservative and was one of the anti-gun republicans when he was in the Ga General Assembly.

There’s an old Communist tactic that I’m suspecting will be employed now. First, you introduce a policy detestable to so many free people, then you retreat during the backlash. Later on, you implement smaller bits and pieces when people are mentally used to dealing with the whole large problem. Their paradigm has been reset, as it were, to view the policy in it’s whole form. (Our inexorable slide to socialized medicine si a perfect example.)

I fear you are right. In the great words of somebody (can't remember who), "it ain't over till it's over".

They did find out the main criticisms bandied about. I look to see them find a way to get around them to fool us.

Everyone needs to keep an eye on them.

I am already hearing per Fox news they are planning to revisit this bill in a few weeks.

It ain't over folks.

Okay. ‘The Bill’ is in hibernation. Now we need to start hammering our ‘representatives’ about BUILDING THE WALL and ENFORCING THE LAW. Just because the ‘comprehensive immigration reform’ didn’t take place doesn’t mean the problem went away. There are still 20 million illegals stealing America.

Looking at the vote results on Cornyn’s amendment to deny a path to citizenship to immigrants with felony convictions, I wasn’t surprised that the vote almost went along party lines, but I was surprised not only that several Democrats voted for it, but that two Republicans - Hagel (NE) and Lugar (IN) - voted against it.

I can’t understand the mentality behind voting against that amendment, and I wish someone would ask those two GOP senators why they did so.

I myself look at the amendements as bargaining chips. We know this bill is going to eventually go through.

We have to ask ourselves "why would anyone vote against an amendement to bar felons from citizenship?" If we think about it, why would a felon and gang member, here illegally, even be allowed into our country?

Now that this bill is shelved for awhile, the talking a dealing will go on to make this bill more palatable in order to push it through with least resistance.

They will come back with this and say "Okay, we will agree that felons should get no pathway to citizenship". Sets the tone that Congress is giving room, its just the hateful ones out there blocking things.

I see them doing this with every point that they heard opposition voice.

Truth is, this bill is unenforceable, concessions are easy when you know that they will never be implemented.

Kind of like that wall we have yet to see.

I wouldn't even be surprised to see them hire a few Amish in the next weeks to send to the border to create the appearance that the wall is started.! LOL

The biggest problem is the Dem's will give away our country to anyone, felons, illegals, FELONS, THEY VOTED TO GIVE OUR COUNTRY TO FELONS. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE? IT DEFIES EXPLANATION.

HERE IS THE REAL LIST of republicans who voted YES for cloture:
Graham (R-SC)
Hagel (R-NE)
Lugar (R-IN)
Martinez (R-FL)
McCain (R-AZ)
Specter (R-PA)
Voinovich (R-OH)

I have no idea where the “list” given in this post came from. These are the republicans who said that the bill, as it NOW STOOD, should be voted into law without further amendments.

“I, even though disappointed, look forward to passing this bill,” Reid said. “I have every desire to complete this legislation, and we all have to work — the president included — to figure out a way to get this bill passed.”

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Reid’s words, pay particularly close attention to “figure out a way to get this bill passed”, as it proves they intend now to slide this thing upon America unawares. Keep an eye out for movement from the dead.

Yes, this is not over. Don’t think it is over. They’re going to keep trying because they think they will be able to do it.

The next time keep the numbers handy. AS soon as you find out the new 800 numbers (if the old ones go away) post them here and start calling.

Actually the next thing to do is call your senators and chide them if they voted for cloture. Then for the republicans who are in favor of it, call them and tell them you’re going to work to put a conservative republican in their seat. And mean it and start working to do it.

Grass roots ought see the influence we have on Legislators and push for a no-excuse funding of the 700 mile fencing as mandated by law, a no-excuse funding for the 10000 BP agents as mandated by law, and insist on interior enforcement being given equal priority.

If we rest upon our laurels now instead of impressing upon Legislators what we really want, nothing will change.

If we can change the ports deal, the Miers nomination, and the immigration reform, collectively we can point our “leaders” in the right direction on an enforcement first pathway - IF that’s what we want badly enough.

America’s Patriots have to set a common goal and accept nothing and no excuse that counters that end.

It seems as though half the US Senators are turning out to be traitors to their own country (by wishing and acting to attempt to overturn the very rule of law, which certainly should count as seriously as helping an enemy in wartime). If this thing were to go through, no consistent case can be made for any law enforcement, if an illegal act becomes legal just because millions of people do that same illegal act but the citizens have no way to influence the rule of law.

In fact, we already know the Democrat Party is filled with traitors such as Senator Kennedy (private negotiations with the Soviet dictatorship against Reagan’s policies) and the other pro-Communist, pro-enemy fools. But what possesses any Republican to do the same thing? Here in WV, everyone knows President Bush is staking his reputation on passage of this horrible bill, and Democrat (!) Senators Byrd and Rockefeller are being given great credit for opposing it. What a wierd inversion of the political order.
