How would Hazmat know to respond if they were not summoned? It appears that the Milwaukee County Sheriff is the lead agency (per initial reports) so why would they be invilved unless they were contacted from the hospital?
MKE sheriff has jursidiction on the County Grounds where the hospitals are located. The sheriff’s dept was providing security, but the Wauwatosa Fire department was in charge of the scene.
Wauwatosa Fire requested Milwaukee Hazmat for mutual aid. Specifically to identify the product they were dealing with.
