I’m sorry to hear of your illness. I hope it’s just temporary.......As for the gunk build-up, is there no coating that can withstand the pressures and temps? Diamond coatings are now used for high temp substrate in military ICs, and I believe it’s an INSULATOR (kinda has to be for ICs).........

That’s the crux of the matter. There is simply no way ANY coating, no matter how tough, can withstand the plasma ablation from MHD coal burning. So rather than persue a “rhino/ceramic” skin, let’s look at how nature repairs skin damage : constant replacement of new skin cells to replace dead ones falling off.

Here I’m thinking of recoating the 4 plasma film-belts(endless loops)by first sand blasting the top layer off(on the outside), then vacuuming clean, then a fast-setting gel for a new top coat. Then fed thru the throat where the whole process repeats.

The purpose of course is to protect the delicate MHD walls, plus remove some heat from the throat, whilst still maintaining the 60%+ efficiency of coal burning to DC electricity. Again, how much coal energy do we have vs middle east oil?
