Thank you very much Ernest, this definitely put things in perspective. Please bear in mind that the number of captured terrorists is at least that of those killed, and also not to consider those who are injured among them that die because of lack of good medical care. I think the dead and captured terrorists is over 1500 a month.

Numbers can give some hints as to success or failure. But how can one equate with, say some criminal (let out by Saddam) who is neutral regarding religion/patriotism, who is willing to sit in some hole in a wall for weeks on end, and get paid to then push a button when a HUMVEE drives into town and down the street the clown huddles in.
These statistics do not reflect the real situation. How many Marine and Soldiers have died accidentally riding their tanks and trucks into ditches full of water, and drowned, that are listed amoung combat deaths because they where actively patrolling etc..
I take the numbers with caution when attempting to draw a picture of how our forces are fairing in the field.
