“OK, I know I’ll get flamed for this. The Catholic church has bled the south of the border forever. I’m talking about people who can’t feed their families who give to the Church. Let’s talk the “Virgin of Guadalupe” por enhemplo.”

Not only that, but the Pope has been working on stuffing the U.S. ballot box for years. If he gets a Catholic majority in this country, there goes the Land Of The Free!

Don the flame-retardent suits.

I am not a Catholic. But I have been very close to one who was, and have learned to see the difference between what Catholics actually believe, and what non-Catholics and anti-Catholics have, in their ignorance, to say about Catholics.

I joined Free Republic looking for honest discussion of issues, knowing I would not find it in easy, flippant, pseudo-intellectualism tossed carelessly about by the Left. In honest discussion, I expect someone who makes a statement to have honestly looked for the truth behind it. Whether in politics or religion, that's what I think honesty is about.

Because the faith of the poor compels them to give back to the source of that faith, it does not mean that their church is BLEEDING them. By the same argument, if you contribute to a candidate or party, that candidate or party is BLEEDING you. Do you REALLY feel that way?

The Pope stuffing the ballot box. INDEED! One of the most important things that Catholics are about is conscience. The fact that some do not demonstrate it is not the doing of the Church, but their own doing. And at some level, their conscience knows it. The ballots in that box were placed there by Americans who happen to be Catholic, not by the Pope. And many of those ballots will NOT reflect the tenets of the Church or of the Pope. Look at how much fun we have on FR flaming Democratic politicans who profess to be Catholic, but who support such thing as abortion. Misguided though they may be, they are voting what they think their conscience dictates.

Bottom line: before you act like a Liberal and spit out some mis-information which appeases your misconceptions, give it some thought. Give unto others the respect you would have them give unto you,

That’s quite hilarious.

Thanks for a dose of humor!

“If he gets a Catholic majority in this country,......”

That will not happen, but the church is very supportive of amnesty for illegals mainly because they really need to get thier numbers up. Since most south of the border illegals are Catholic they naturally take the stand that they do.
