Iran has threatened to launch a missile blitz against the Gulf states and plunge the entire Middle East into war if America attacks its nuclear facilities.

That,Abdul, gives us a very strong incentive to hit more than just your nukes, doesn't it!

"IRAN has threatened to launch a missile blitz against the Gulf states and plunge the entire Middle East into war if America attacks its nuclear facilities."

I think he means Israel.

Let those carpet kissing goat herders sign their own death warrant. This is all the more reason to raze that country.

It’s a shame we didn’t take Iran down earlier, like say, three years ago, when this first came up. The longer we wait, the more arms they stockpile, and the more bloody our conflict will be. Where are you, Mr President?

I hate to say it, but this is by far Iran’s strongest deterrent- and it’s a big one.

There’s a certain Saudi refinery- I forget which one- which is one of the most heavily guarded places on earth since it’s widely known that if terrorists took it out it would cripple Saudi oil production- apparently Saudi oil needs some kind of special treatment before shipping.

A refinery like that would be a model target for medium range missiles like Iran has.

If the rest of the Middle East is smart. (No they arent ,unfortunately) They would realise that Iran is not their fiend, and join to see that a new regime replaces the current one. Unfortunately they see the US as the problem, when they are their own worst enemies.

wouldn’t Iran just love to have an excuse to damage the oil producing capacity of its neighbors, and be the sole oil producing state in the ME for a while?
I wonder how their neighbors would take it.

“The objective would be to overwhelm US missile defence systems with dozens and maybe hundreds of missiles fired simultaneously at specific targets.”

This is likely their first strike strategy as well as a "defensive" strategy. Odd that the press isn't concerned in the least with this threat to destroy countries that have not done anything except pursue their own, independent foreign policies. At the same time, Bush's failure to use the proper honorific in replying to the Pope is headline news.

It may be tough to take on Iran because of the oil situation, but we can hold Jimmy Carter responsible for the murder death and misery he caused tomorrow. And that wouldn’t hurt anything now would it?

Okay, so if the US doesn’t get Iran’s nukes in order to avoid attacks, then Iran can attack later, with nukes.

Makes so much sense.

Shamkhani told the US journal Defense News that missiles would be launched not only at US military bases but also at strategic targets such as oil refineries and power stations.

So they will gladly kill innocent Muslims. Their entire mindset is terroristic in character. The sooner we put an end to Islam's aggression against the West, the better.

Does he really think we would leave his missile sites intact? If we were to attack his nuclear facilities I am sure our military would be smart enough to also hit his means to strike back. We do not still have Jimmy Carter to mess up our military./p>

We will have to simply nuke their entire country.

Well, I know, it won’t happen. They should thank Allah on their callused knees that ole Bon Mots isn’t secretary of the button.

We’re waiting since 1979 for this supposedly “pro-American” nation to come to its senses - but it hasn’t happened for nearly 30 years - and probably never will.

Glassin’ time.

When Iran strikes, Iran might well lose a region surrounding the Straits of Hormuz. They will lose the war, to the victor belong the spoils, and the victors will turn Hormuz into some kind of Gulf State emirate.
