Make it easy for employers to check SS#s If names and #s don't match.....and if the problem isn't just a clerical error, then that individual shouldn't be hired.

If an employer hires someone whos name and #s don't match - then the employer should pay.....

Maybe - if I find out that an illegal is using my SS#, then I should perhaps be able to press charges against the company that hired the illegal that is using my SS#.....

I think that this could put a big hurt on the "slave labor" practices that too many employers are taking advantage of.

Perhaps this might cause a bit of inflation as the cost of labor increases - but that is a fair price.....

I agree, but I can tell you in the southwestern states most HR departments are 100% Hispanic because of these dopey "you must be bilingual so you don't offend anyone" policies. I have a feeling that any loopholes that exist are exploited by the HR person out of camaraderie with the prospective employee.
