Albania Gives Bush A Hero’s Welcome
CBS ^ | 06/10/07 | staff

US President George W. Bush, leaving behind thousands of anti-Bush protesters in Rome, got a hero's welcome in Albania on Sunday as he became the first American president to visit this tiny impoverished nation.

When Mr. Bush arrived on his brief stop in Tirana, the hills overlooking the capital boomed as military cannons fired a 21-gun salute to the president. Thousands of people gathered in the downtown square on a brilliantly sunny day to see the president and first lady Laura Bush

Shall we bask in the vicarious glory of our President’s Albanian welcome and forget about our own invaded land, while he reaches across the miles to rally his Arnoldian warriors?

Maj-Gen. Lewis MacKenzie is a Canadian protectionist ala Paul/Buchanan . . . He was also accused of some pretty unsavory behavior during his tenure in Bosnia . . . interesting.

Please point me to a link, if available.

On that other thread (see post #6), Several FReepers that I respect seem to think Kosovar independence is a very bad idea. The State Dept. influence that “longtermmemmory” points out and the ethnic tensions that “dfwgator” discusses (among other FReepers) seem to be excellent points.

Until somebody has evidence to the contrary, I’ll have to go with the overwhelming consensus that Kosovar independence is a bad, bad idea.

Just my opinion based on what I have learned today.

>>>>>Do you think Bush’s call for Kosovar independence has something to do with the recent saber rattling by Putin?<<<<<

American support to Islamofascist terrorists in Kosovo predates both G.W. Bush and Putin and has to be assessed in that context.

The plan can be traced back to 1948. No wonder that son of the CIA man in charge of Operation Fiend is W's envoy for Kosovo problem today. All in the family.

The story how Putin came to power is interesting. Boris Yeltsin, a drunken sailor was follower of U.S.-set policies. The majority of Russian people were happy that Cold War is over, and that America won. They loved everything American and hoped that American dream will come to their neighborhood anytime soon. All this changed overnight with Clinton's mauling of Serbia in 1999. The American actions were realisation of what Communist Propaganda cliches of what America supposedly is - imperialist, vile and criminal.

Russians forgot their love affair with America overnight. The bombing of Serbian civilian targets reminded them of Hitler's actions in Russia during WWII. And this is living memory in Russia. American 'free media' reminded them of Communist Propaganda and Hitler's propaganda. They got fed up. They woke up from their American dream into American reality.

The hardliners of former KGB sensed the opportunity. They did not have to make a coup to install one of their own -Putin came to power on the wave of public dissent with American actions.

Instead of drunken sailor Yeltsin, sly and competent Putin and his shadow aides came to power.

The American Cold war victory was squandered over Kosovo. The billions of research (shot down F-117a) ended in Chicom hands. And propaganda advantage of American tecnological invincibility was lost. On other flashpoints the American actions were not overlooked. India went nuclear in response.

And the question is, for what? For 4000 aq. mi. of landlocked swath of hellhole? It must be the most valuable piece of hell hole on the face of the Earth.

When W came to the office, Putin was already in power and Kosovo occupied by NATO was a mess already.

Since 2001, State Department did not change Clinton's policy of support to Islamofascist terrorists. Various National Guard outfits trained Albanian terrorists, even after it was found that they engage in terrorist activities.

The question in this case is not who, what, when, where, it is all documented, the question is - why?

The only logical explanation is that Kosovo is a fuse of large scale war, ready to be detonated in appropriate moment.

Everything else is illogical, immoral and outright evil.

>>>>> Pics anyone? Can’t seem to find many at the moment.<<<<

I'd love to see the pics of USMC guarding W during a 'friendly visit". Perhaps this is not exactly the pics spinmeisters would like us to see and why the pics are few and far between.

Thanks God, W is out of Albania alive and well.

The Albanians. The most horrible backward violent radical and isolated people in all of Europe. And we help them to murder Christians and establish a Muslim narco-state. And they just tried to attack Fort Dix. I'm sure Bush will want to bring millions of them over here.

That was a great post. But many of us have opposed this for ten years. It's been the same all along. Previously, that was not too bad a region, even had electricity surpluses and some nice amenities in life. Now, they're lucky to have electricity a few hours a day after years of expert management by the U.N. lackeys who steal their aid money and run the sex rings.

I’m afraid that’s about right.

The Albanians would be cheering even louder for clinton, who invaded Kosovo in the first place and handed it to the Albanian terrorists and drug smugglers, but regretably President Bush is following clinton’s policies right down the line.

Bush follows those policies because he and McCrazy both supported Xlinton to begin with. I know you’ve been here long enough to recall the anger here at FR over it, especially that we had troops under UN command, wearing that hateful blue helmet.

President Bush couldn’t so much as walk down an american streets without extraordinary security.

I wouldn’t read much into it.

Right! Abuse the USA to defend the Albanians. Nice work, troll.

It is always fascinating to see you defend the indefensible (in this case, independence for a KLA terrorist state).

Actually idiot I’ve been a member here for quite a while.

And since when did I ‘abuse’ the USA?

Get a grip and get some facts before you make idiotic remarks.
