until a just solution to the oppression of Palestinians is found, there will be neither real security for Israel, peace in the Middle East, nor geo-strategic stability for the United States.

Many continue to believe the fantasy that if Israel would simply leave the W. Bank and Gaza, give the Palies their precious "right of return", and hand Syria the Golan Heights the longstanding instability in the region would magically vanish and Arab and Jew would sing Kumbaya and Hava Nagila in brotherly love. And of course the U.S. would cease to be targeted by jihadists. Most are in unfathomable denial.

But many others who've been advocating that Israel give away the store know full well the consequences of such actions -- the inevitable destruction of Israel. ....presicely what they've always wanted.

And what amazes me it they're stupid enought to cite the 67 war, undertaken when the West Bank was Jordan and Gaza was Egypt. You'd think they'd have the sense to cite the 48 Nakba, and simply admit their goal it to expel Jews from the middle east.

Ms. Barr seems to have missed the news the Israelis evacuated Gaza almost two years ago. There's not a single Jew there to provoke the Palestinians. Yet they still kill other in the absence of Jews. If anything, the so called occupation were good days for the Arabs. They enjoyed a measure of freedom and stability they had never known under Jordanian and Egyptian rule. I would say oppression is bad if it exists; but it infinitely more terrible to be oppressed by your own kind. I think it was Mazzini who said that he would favor the return of the Austrians than allow the Italians to be slaves to themselves. The reason Israel left Gaza is Jews do not want to run an empire even if they're good at it. Yet despite such magnamity, I do not think Israel will be left alone to pursue its own life as it wants.
