Giuliani may turn out to be the only shot we have at stopping a Hillary KKKlinton presidency; I’ll certainly vote for the guy if that’s the choice.

I just can’t believe Rudy and McCain can be pulling any numbers recently. Guess it’s just a matter of who does the poll. Like those others that say Paul is on top. Must be an alternate universe.

RinoRudy will become a lower case footnote in the history books.

Who conducted this poll, Rudy Giuliani?

Agreed. In both New Hampshire and Iowa, Rudy and McVain are running out of steam. Iowa is, second only to possibly Ohio, the ultimate bellweather state. And if they are afraid to compete here, one has to wonder where they can compete.

New Hampshire is the most Republican state in the Northeast which, I suppose, is like being the most chaste girl in a whorehouse. If Rudy has fallen into third place here, you've got to wonder about the polling methods. Possibly it is based on media hype or name recognition only.

Fred Thompson actually needs to enter the race to gauge his strength. Right now, he is a blank screen on which people are projecting their hopes.

Guiliani will never get above about 30% because of his liberalism in Republican primaries. His support may remain stable or decline, but it can't increase without a sincere and obvious change of heart to a conservative worldview.

It will take a while for things to shake out, but eventually a more conservative candidate will emerge as a concensus alternative to Guiliani, and that person will win the primary. I don't think it will be McCain. His talent for aggravating conservatives puts a ceiling on his support as well. My guess is Thompson.

If Thompson does not appear as a serious contender, I could see things getting fairly ugly, with Guiliani 'winning' the early primaries with 30% support, McCain in 2nd, and a flock moderate/conservative Republicans in tow. At some point the deal-making within the rest would begin so that a conservative front-runner would emerge, or you would end up with a liberal candidate that would finally drive people to look at an alternative like the Constitution Party.

I put it into Powerpoint.

I just can’t believe Rudy and McCain can be pulling any numbers recently.

Well, Giuliani I can see having some support. But have any of us ever met a McCain supporter? I don't think they exist.

I couldn't find an MSM article discussing the poll yet. Maybe somebody can post it on this thread when one appears.

As a Romneybot, I find it impressive that Romney managed to increase his percentage whilst Thompson was taking 17% out of play.

I put it into Powerpoint.

Never going to happen! Voting on those terms is what got the rinos where they are and the amnesty bill to the senate.

Think of the popular vote as being a predictor of the electoral vote with a 3% margin of error.

Popular polls are imperfect, but they can mean something about current popular opinion, if properly conducted.

I don’t know if anyone out there lived in NY while Rudy was Mayor, but they were a bunch of flaming socialist psychos and he beat them down and down into total defeat. Too many people buy into the “too liberal” media bs. Even on abortion, he is about identical to Bush and Reagan, who signed the first law legalizing abortion in California.
